INSIGHT

  • Many players are not interested in using Pirate Fortress. Most are not interested in the mechanics of piracy itself.
  • The rest feel that the rewards of piracy are not worth the effort. Thus, only a few players actively use this building.
  • Also, some players do not like how the Pirate Fortress look in the city view, because it looks very different to other buildings
  • Lighthouse could be found in any ancient port

SUGGESTION
Implement Lighthouse building as a second option for the same building slot. That will allow players to choose rather they want to build a Pirate Fortress or the Lighthouse

EFFECTS
Can be any, depending on Gameforge view on game design, but I would offer few options

  • +1 Merchant Ship per building level (building price should significantly increase in this case)
  • +5% Speed to all Friendly or Neutral fleets per building level, coming to this port (Own fleets including recalled, Trade fleets, Defensive missions)

That's such a good idea, would look very great in the city even as a "background" element

More trading ships is definitely what we all need and crave. But friendly ships idea is so interesting, it would open some new strategic aspects of the game, some people could use lighthouses almost as black holes to speed up their travel through world map

A solution for this could be (combined with the city view rework ) to just connect the pirate fortress slot's island to the main land and add another pot slot. Then make all 3(+1) ports usable to all sea-connected building types:

  • Trading ports
  • Shipyard
  • Pirate fortress
  • Dockyard
  • (NEW) Lighthouse - basically a reworked sea chart archive, but uses port slot
