It's a grinder game Connor, do your double money plays every 4 hours. Race your normal races, they drop rss at I would say 40% rate. They made buying money a steep cost, 500k can be made in 4 days or so just grinding. Pick the events wisely and opponents in them

WHAT THE HECK. WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK. I had just played Dam Lucky so I knew I couldn't finish faster than 25s, so I chose the fastest opponent, so I could minimize my loss of points. The countdown before the race started, and the opponent was nowhere to be seen. The race started and I still didn't see him, until about halfway to the finish, I could see his nametag way up ahead. But when I reached the finish line, guess what. HE STILL WASN'T THERE. So I don't know what kind of hack he was doing or using, but I don't think he was ever on the track… that's ridiculous and impossible to beat

I can understand not having a chance against a 3 star car, but I still think the win margin shouldn't be that huge. And that big a gap should definitely be impossible if I do a (near) perfect run against another 2 star (mine is a 2 star M2, fully maxed with augments)

All the brackets I join now are filled with whales though, and the way they structure the events for prize cars around newly released cars with 15x carbon fiber packs is pushing me away though. Choose one of the cars and race double payout, easy money to earn cash and reaource drops to upgrade your cars.. Save your gold as you will need this to enter events to be in with a chance to keys, gold, cash, cars
with some ladder events you can earn fusion points to increase star ratings on your cars and upgrade them even further

With keys you have bronze, silver and gold, bronze gives cash and augments, silver gives cash, gold, augments and a car, the same for gold but they are usually better drops than the silver
augments you can fit when you your car is upgraded past a certain stage and can be removed to use on other cars.. Only thing with augments is it depends on the tier to what level augments you can use
boss races give you the opportunity to win their car after race 7 so if want a chance either max your car or upgrade it as much as possible but then you may have to buy super nos
when you beat the boss and move up to the next tier you will be forced to buy a new car for that tier even if you have one for it already

@vale aurora it is fully upgraded, its only good as a starter car for the next tier. But as of yet its a dust collector until they add events and such that you will be able to use them in!
it seems a lot people are in a hurry to get to the highest tier so they do the boss run as soon as they can without winning the boss cars...

For example, I have 3 Epic +Power intake augments for a koenigsegg (that I don't have). Once I am able to use one, what do I do with the other 2?

I think the crate system needs to be reworked
bronze should give resources as well as augments and should be 3 drops plus cash, silver should be any car drop plus stage 5-6 resource and an augment and either gold or cash and gold should give Tier B - S cars and stage 5 - 6 resource, same with augments B - S and cash or gold
seeing as if you don't buy keys you have to work very hard to earn the keys to open them most keys are dropped from ladders or PvP and cost gold to enter

@blissful quarry well, if you do the ladder first, you'll get all your gold back, plus whatever gold you get from 5 gold crates and 5 silver crates… just gotta finish the ladder fast so you can enter head to head

I think the case could be made, after playing this game since October, that you are far more likely to pull a car with a higher star rating from keys than you are to gather enough fusion credits to upgrade a car. I have added more stars to cars by randomly pulling crates than adding stars by fusing.
@buoyant lark But to answer your question, you get them infrequently through ladder events.

@paper forge It does matter different starred cars are the same car but in a different class. I had a Ruf 3 star put graphics on, paid cash then I pulled a 4. Tried to use the one from 3 and it didn't work. Had to pay 150 gold for higher ranked car.

You jus gotta pay attention to the point system every time you up grade. There's 4 up grades that give power one nitro and one handling. There you will see how much.
