Momoa's been getting work
haha, it's interesting to see the cinemaphotography where they work to keep him from looking short.
I mean, it was either him or the rock
Watching this really makes me feel gross as an American
That, and any other Native American show with historical backings. It’s so sad to read comments today online from people who think the lands theft and atrocities are so far in the past we shouldn’t concern ourselves with them.
1883 from Tyler Sheridan, 1923 as well. Killers of the Flower Moon also…grrrr.
Yeah JM being Hawaiian 🌺 through and through helps with authenticity. Saw him in a breakout at CCSD I think, he chatted a bit about the history of the Hawaiian language, was when I started learning how bad we and their own people treated them.
Also we have a huge Tonga 🇹🇴 population in my area, and some good friends. We’ve been chatting about this show since I started watching it. It can really get depressing learning about this stuff.
I like shows that bring a chunk or realism to the front. Tickles the brain and motivates to go learn some real history. Gotta know where we come from mate.
EP7 is proof that you can try to predict how the writers will piece things together....but with good writers you'd be wrong.
Kai'lana def trying to be aggressive an keep the islands from falling to others, but clearly not recognizing how much being away from the islands has made him different as well.
