That and most proffie setup video's are old and will guide you to use zadig which is the old way of setup, use this guide for setup instead: https://pod.hubbe.net/proffieboard-setup.html

There is also relatively new all in one software that will allow altering as well as uploading from the same program and does all the dependency installs for you: https://github.com/ryryog25/ProffieConfig/wiki/ProffieConfig

As for a backup of your config, there should be a .h file that is a backup of the config on the SD card, though resellers have a tendency to not include this.

Yeah it seems neosabers did a whole bunch of banks that just confused the heck out of me so I just grabbed everything haha

#

Didn’t see an .h file or atleast didn’t notice one

#

But will do with the newer guides thank you very much good sir!!

well the .h should be at the root of the SD card. The 'banks' would be the sound files for the fonts themselves.

Ahhh okay so I didn’t look enough haha

if there isn't a .h you may need to see if you can get it from support from neosabers, or yeah you will need to rebuild a new config before you flash. You'll still have all the fonts in the SD folders, but you wouldn't have the same blade styles anymore is about all.

Understood, gotta 100% secure an .h file for backup before I do anything. Are fonts and blade styles two separate things?

#

And then if so I’ll have to manually put back each font to its blade style on the backed up .h file?

#

Also if all these questions are simply solved by “watch the videos” I’ll gladly chill on the questions 😂

yes, the font is more or less the audio files in the folders on the SD card, the blade style is the set of instructions for how the blade looks for the font in the config file presets. Some fonts come with a blade style when purchased, but most the time they don't and you will need to use one from elsewhere (fett's library usually). That first link that has the proffie setup also links to the main documentation that covers a lot of the basics you should probably know.
