#proffie issues

What seems to be the issue. What board is being used and what is happening with as much detail as possible.
Please go into detail about your problem, and share pictures of the saber and the internals if you can safely get at them @barren ivy
Specifically, what version of Proffieboard @barren ivy?
And yeah, throw out the specifics of the issue. If it's configuration-related, please post your config file.
ok
proffie 2.2
fallen order v3
saber turns on everything works fine except the blade doesn't light up and the pcb leds don't work
the accent leds don't work either
im not sure what pictures would help
Were they working originally?
This could be a config issue, so could you post that here?
they worked fine and one day they didnt
I've tried the stock config and my custom ones
boy does that look familiar, repaired one recently. CAn you provide the config that is currently flashed, just wanna verify something.
hmm. Well, looks correct, so likely a harware related issue. Can you give me a top down shot of the chassis connector on the chassis?
its a black peg
its not missing
What do the MOSFETs look like...
Can you get a clean shot of the proffieboard?
just a top down
@azure pilot does that middle MOSFET look like it's got... something there in both of the pictures
wondering if it got fried
given that connector's busted
(something could have temporarily bridged
fets look fine, and there is for sure data 1 and 2 wired in. if it's wired the same as the one I repaired the broken section covers the switch connections.
Can you get a shot of just that middle MOSFET, try and get it to focus on it?
I don't like the fact that you see the same reflection in both pictures
I can tell the boot and reset buttons are shot.
that is true
does this help?
i also dont know what a mosfet is haha
yeah, to me the fetts look fine.
these:
oh i see
they are the main power gates to the pixels. But I suspect there's an issue with the primary data line.
This would be the wiring diagram from the one I repaired not long ago. Though the accent LEDs for the chassis board was mirrored to the main blade in that case
idk if this helps, but there are 2 sets of accent leds
one full pcb of LEDs on the bottom to light up the pommel, and 2 towards the top, the ones towards the top copy what the blade should be doing, and the bottom ones are counted as their own thing, and the top leds work as they should
ok, so the break is happening at the chassis adapter or close to it.
and that diagram is just an example, since it uses a v3.9 board rather than your 2.2, and I needed to remap the button pads since the original ones were dead.
Yeah, probably fine
Given the state of the connector itself...
yeah its real bad
I would recommend replacement... though not like you can really get those connector PCBs. I think I saw the blade connectors at one point tho so it would be possible to replace it.
I'd need to dig for it tho.
trying to tell this while reverse is hard.
black is pixel neg, green is data, red is positive. Assuming it's wired the same as the one I repaired.
tbh im not confident in my ability to fix something like that haha
I do offer repair services if you prefer. Leave the legwork and part hunting to me.
up to you tho.
about how much would you think that would be
My repair and diagnostics rate is $75 + shipping (usually only $10) + the cost of any parts.
ok, so do you reckon i should set aside like 150 to cover it all
idk how much the parts would be
eh, probably not even that much assuming it's only the blade connector that is the issue. Those connectors on ali I remember being fairly cheap (the black plastic parts, not the PCB) the biggest issue would be the amount of time it takes for ali to ship.
