#Ahsoka Series discussion
1 messages · Page 4 of 1
I don't think it's a coincidence that they keep doing it in every show now where nothing much happens and nobody's motivations are revealed until like the last two eps
everything is a drip-fed mystery box now lol
yea its kind of getting annoying
shin and baylan missing for most of the last episode was dissapointing too
I'm sure they're told to do it
the 2s of them at the end didn't do it justice its esp sad since the actor is dead and his story will prob be some background expostiion now
shin is and baylin is going to be s2
Baylen's actor dead tho
recast
Ray Stevenson
Ray was fantastic, great character
100% execs want to milk it as much as possible lol
also this
uh oh
Such an amazing and raw performance by Ray
I really would rather them not recast
But it sucks because they very clearly set him up to be another big part of the next season
Tbf it literally is BRAND NEW
Jusnsith is halfway done already.
I'll do it. Someone get Dave on the phone.
What will happen to Baylan now?
He becomes the father or he is now the father
Should’ve been in the episode way more imo
Oh boy......can you imagine people actually bitching about that?
Just wait guarantee someone will😭
I really hate watching lightsaber scenes sometimes, especially when Ahsoka wields 2. She could so easily block with one and attack with the other. had multiple opportunities to do it against Morgan
*battles
cool scene
less grainy shot
I was so hoping Ezra’s blade was gonna be gold or something
Also does huyang just have a bunch of crystals on the ship?
Someone make that Dao
Themselves
Ahsoka and Sabine will fight Baylin and Shin and her army
Is he tho
also I hate that every stature is human...
Wym?
Almost as if the subjects were human
It’s the father son and daughter has her head chopped off
I still have a migriane...
lmaoooo
Man the gasp I made when I saw that in the trailer for season 4....
wait who is the new son? if ahsoka is new dautgher
Well idk bc morai is the daughter
so she’s here
nobody necessarily needs to be the new son yet
and we don’t even know if any of this is fact it’s just speculation
just wish Dave threw us a CONCLUSIVE BONE
but ahsoka is the daughter
Since when
since the daughter entered her
who is going to be the father if not baylin
Juan made them already
Pause
like CW ages ago
well nobody has to necessarily be anybody yet there has been no father for quite some time
Mace Windu and Jar Jar find and faces the Nightsister Mother Talzin in yet another one of her attempts to achieve immortality, as seen in the 4K HDR Clone Wars Season 6 cut, "The Disappeared Film Arc"
A full 4K HDR (and 1080p) upscale of the entire series, also taking all but 9 episodes and re-cutting them seamlessly into feature films for ever...
Different font makers have different takes, I’m a sucker for kyberphonics
Different swords
Sword looks completely different
different swords
I already said that, you two.
bares repeating
idk they seem like different swords to me
they both have green flames so they must be the same
I think the swords are different
I mean no green flames
so ya?
Enough.
Not the same sword methinks
same sword
its got green fire
Also, wonder what Ahsoka is going to do, just fight with one now I guess?
It physically hurt me to see her lose one
lol
Anakin gonna come back as Force-daddy doing Chosen One shenanigans
GG @half sleet, you just advanced to level 13!
lol
Damn they really brought back the Mortis Gods
Like whoa
Also it looks like we'll be getting a new hilt to buy soon heh
Phone won't let me take screenshots
Nvm
Just lighting shenanigans
But could see one
What a good finale

Jeez someone already made the nightsister blade style https://www.facebook.com/groups/opensourcesabers/permalink/1503302153739260/?mibextid=haimBR
I'll just leave this here. If you know, you know. ;)
I want a canon interpretation of death troopers now, the novel not the unit.
but those death troopers in this ep were awesome.
I mean, that's what they're for
At the level that Death Night was tho?

I'm sure I saw a jawbone
He was dead so probably
Hmm. The cargo looked like bodyboxes kinda. I wonder if those end up being the sith eternal shadows.
The sabers were definitely shorter
You already know I’m gonna be doing this
😬 Shadowfoil Props SP Sabers, Props and Collectables
That was FAST
Personally I’m more excited to do the choreo
Anyone see the stormtrooper fall over while they all ran up the stairs in the latest ep. Took a big ol tumble 😂
Was he a dead one?
Haha yes reminded me of that.
It is just after the troopers blast through a door. The troopers were acting much less dead suddenly and run upstairs and one towards the front (shot is from behind) trips over and scrambles back up
Oh lmao
so does the use of the word Ronin imply the existence of Earth Culture in SW verse then?
Hot dayyum Morgan got moves!
Not really
its such a Japanese word T^T
Daimyo of tattooine
Considering Han said "I'll see you in hell" in the OT and Anakin called Padme an "angel" in TPM
oh right daimyo too
Also they're speaking english
When Galactic Basic is "English" they can just use other languages to be "alien language"
Jedi is even likely based of jedai
jedai means era tho
Yeah, and the OT was based off a jedaigeki
Darth Maul's face is basically an oni mask
Zatochi too. its a reference to Zatoichi the blind swordsman
yeah but its not a mask. I need a actual mask to appear on screen so I can have an excuse to don one for my costume group.
Lucky for her, her robot companion has a lightsaber workshop in her ship. So she can make another whenever.
I see graflex parts so it would be neat to see her make a graflex inspired hilt now that she’s resolved her issues with Anakin
Yes, yesss... more toys for Disney to sell!
Huyang like Oprah with those lightsaber parts
The music when Baylan was on the Statue was incredible. Really had a chaotic/maddening feel to it for a Character that has been so composed.
I’m surprised he’s got spare crystals like that.
How does Ezra’s saber go from blue to green to blue again. I thought crystal colors were supposed to match their personalities now

i frigging love this
They're colorless until found iirc
Yeah
I thought the color matched their personality
So it should always be the same color, no?
Aren’t angels a species or something
Isn’t there a TCW episode on their planet
Iego I think?
Nope
If someone gives you a blue crystal, it stays blue
Yeah that much I understand. But if a Jedi was given 3 blank crystals, would they all turn the same color? Or is it random?
If a jedi pulled 3 crystals out of whereever they grow, I think they'd be the same colour. Not 100% on that though
but if they were given 3 crystals, they'd be the colour of whoever found them first I think
although some crystals are just coloured that way because that's how they're coloured
Yeah, like 10 years after the name drop lol
Disney totally screwed up their own canon when they had Anakin give Ahsoka her sabers back in TCW S7 and just be like "I made them blue for you because reasons"
yeah, but we don't know if he used new crystals or w/e for that, do we?
Not sure if they specified
Anakin 100% had spare crystals, dude kept losing his saber lmao
But since Jedi are bonded to their crystals.... using just any rando crystal won't be the same
old EU they just used whatever and it was a combo of power crystal and color crystal
Yeah true. I think his original crystal was the only one we saw
So Luke was given a blank crystal, had a vision of Yoda & it turned Green.
So who the fuck knows LOL
Ahsoka's white ones were an Inquisitor's that "called to her" from across the galaxy
Then she purified them
I think she purified the crystals of the inquisitor she killed in Tales of the Jedi
I don’t think they called to from across the galaxy. They called to her from 5 feet away
Unless they retconned the novel, no
There are continuity issues with the final season of TCW and Tales of the Jedi.
and Filoni says that the tales episode is the same story as the book so again, who the fuck knows
And the novel, written by Filoni, was before either of those came out
Hmm. The novel is where she got them from. Idk what she did with the random inquisitors saber she had in Tales
It's the same story.
they're just slightly differently told
He’s not the 6th brother though
Oh no way
I haven’t read the novels. But from what I just gathered those were two different events
" Filoni explains, “It’s based on the same outline I gave publishing for the novel. It was always the same story.” "
As far as I am aware the color of the crystal does represent its wielder but is not a representation of status or position
The reason why yellow lightsabers were never seen during the Republic is because something something Jedi becoming dogmatic
Tales isn't strictly exactly what happened in any of the episodes, as the series itself is "parables built around the Jedi". Basically stories that people tell about the Jedi.
Free thinking and freedom of choice and all that stuff was apparently supported more openly during the High Republic which is why there was more lightsaber variation
Yeah like explaining how Ahsoka got her crystals
Do we know what happened to Kanan’s lightsaber after he died? I haven’t seen Rebels
Governor Pryce had it.
Maybe Ezra took the crystal
Honestly Huyang probably just has those shits laying around somewhere ngl
I would hate to think they aren’t canon :/
And anyone can use just any crystal... it just won't be the same as using your crystal
I know how crystals work
Yeah I can see him having spare crystals. But I can also see him having blank ones too
It’s similar to wands but like, not really
We don’t know why Ezra’s was ever green. I don’t think we ever saw how he got that one
They are "canon" but it's not like "historical records" canon but "huddled around the campfire hiding from Imperials and telling stories" canon
Kinda silly then tbh
At least based on how their own marketing pitched the show
so what is the orange sabers suppose to signify
Especially since it’s tales of a fallen Jedis secret happenings with sidious. And then a rogue jedis story on the other planet
Nothing
Probably next season we might get more
Nothing yet, at least

I still stick by my Plo Koon theory
Ok so I have a genuine question
Is it just me or does the body language of the actors who use the Force feel… off?
Like, anytime in this show someone has been shown to use the Force (with the exception of Skoll and Hati) it feels very weird
Like I can’t pinpoint what it is
But it feels less convincing, I guess?
Like it really seems like they’re just sticking their hand out
Which like, they are
But there’s something strange about it to me that wasn’t there in any of the other pieces of SW content I’ve seen
yeah it kinda does
GG @red ibex, you just advanced to level 12!
Understandable with Sabine since she's still a noob
feels very err forced?
Ezra's force pushes are so inconsistent XD
I think it’s the sound effects and unsteady hands that do it for me
Ezra did feel off, but then again he wasn't the most graceful Jedi in Rebels either lol
he was saying stuff liek I only need the force. proceeds to push a trooper a few centimeters away liek a normal shove wouldnt do it.
Also, it seems that Disney has opted to started using significantly more acrobatics (if that’s the word) in lightsaber choreography
People rolling all over the place and flipping on the floor
I thought it was just flashback Ahsoka being young Ahsoka but Ezra did it a lot as well
Ahsoka almost seemed to fight btr than
I think the Morgan fight was the best choreographed fight in the show
with actual display of techniques
Sad to see Morgan go, she had really good choreography imo
Helps that the actress is trained well.
oh for sure her martial arts are legit
Go figure
the kick she did seems very wing chun like
if u ever saw ip man donnie yen does something similar
Her dad trained Bruce Lee.
Another thing that really can’t be helped is how unsteady people hold lightsabers in the show
Which makes sense because they use pixel sabers now
But there’s something oddly jarring about watching the prop wobble and bobble in the actors’ hands
To be fair she is
Get some grip training going fr lol
Harder for zombietrooper to knock your shit across the floor
Sabine (and other Mandalorians) are trained in swordsmanship, which is not the same as lightsaber combat. It makes much more sense for Sabine to really on heavy and wide sweeps when fighting since that’s likely what she has the most experience with
But now that she seems to have figured out how to properly tap into the Force, she’ll likely learn how to wield her saber properly
as far as I know only darksaber was shown as such.
and Sabine in animated fought more fluid with a saber as well.
Honestly shoutout to the writers for not only making Sabine incapable of properly blocking blaster bolts, but also for making her fall back to her blasters when it would be reasonable to do so rather than just forcing her to use a weapon she’s clearly not proficient in
of course I'd just chalk it to animation
Nope, they all do
That boy quick
It’s ✨gyroscopic✨
Im gonna need some backing for this. So far I have not seen other wielders to be particularly affected by "lightsaber" weight. it only started from Ahsoka
There’s no real use in trying to science out how lightsabers work, but the way I have it figured, the beam emitted is so compact that heat doesn’t escape but through touch, so naturally it has a gyroscopic resistance to movement that requires training (and the Force) to properly work around
If plasma works the same way in star wars as irl, then the blades are weightless but will have inertia/gyroscopic effects.
Lightsaber lore has changed in basically every single piece of media, best not to worry about backing or whatever
No one can make up their mind
Preeecisely
And if no heat escapes from the blade except through touch, the density would make them even harder to swing
and if Lucas is still to be trusted
he said that the weight of a saber would be 6-11 pounds
and for context a longsword is like 3lbs
That’s the average greatsword weight
ya'll use the weirdest of unit measurements
Since they've never actually explained what it really is, my headcanon has always been that the lightsaber blade is a manifestation of Force energy. The Force laughs in the face of physics lol
Wdym
pounds XD
Stone
I use them because most people here are from usa and don't understand metric
but to go simpler so far across the medias
Lucas said sabers were 2.7kg to 5kg.
I personally prefer the more scientific approach but yeah that also works
USers have not been shown to be affected by their saber weights
Hilt or ignited
Never said.
I disagree
show me
It's best to assume Kanan was speaking from experience when training Sabine.
he mention stuff about saber's attracting each other
but not the saber blade itself having any sort of weight
what Im gunning at is simply that only in Ahsoka series u can see they're particularly affetced by the weight balance coming from the saber blade
in other series its not rly shown
probably because of the props their using tbh
my point exactly tho
but we've also had characters say "It's heavier than I thought"
Almost every lightsaber wielder we’ve seen in canon has had some proficiency with the weapon. If you can’t manage the weight of a sword then you obviously can’t use the sword, so there’s no logical reason why those individuals would be affected by the weight, especially when taking the Force into account.
Those who have used lightsabers with minimal training all swing them like baseball bats and wield them like heavy weapons. The Darksaber itself is shown to have weight so there is very little reason to assume it is the only one. Also, just look at how Luke fights Vader in ESB. If he was using an unweighted weapon would he really have ended up that fatigued that quickly? There’s also several lore implications with things like Djem So.
so far I have only seen two cases of characters being thrown around by the saber's weight. Its the DS and Sabine. Sometimes Ahsoka cause I can clearly tell her dual wielding is slowed down
There’s honestly nothing in canon to even support lightsabers being weightless
To get nerdy, pounds is a measurement of weight... the measurement of gravitational force on an object. Kilograms is a measurement of mass, the amount of matter an object contains. The weight just doesn't change enough on Earth (until you get into the upper atmosphere) so kg is used interchangeably for mass and weight. 🤓
It took you a damn long time to type that Kel
It also just wouldn’t make sense at all for them to be weightless based on literally everything we’ve seen
your statement about the weapon weight causing fatigue is highly debatle
try shadowboxing at nothing
you'd still be fatigue
weight or no weight when u engage in movements you get tired
I was interrupted by a phone call
Bro was parkouring through a jungle and doing handstands for minutes at a time for like, weeks
You really think bro’s arms are gonna be tired after 10 minutes of swinging a supposedly weightless weapon
Also you replied to exactly one of my points
and bro was fighting mental fatigue when engaging in a duel with his dad
Didn’t know it was his dad until after
your statement about dueling and getting tired is terrible example.
"It's heavier than I thought."
"Energy constantly flows through the crystal. You're not fighting with a simple blade as much as you are directing a current of power."
Seems to imply there's some weight caused by the energy.
It’s not at all
u get way more tired fighting somebody than u do in a run
I am telling it as a matter of very fact as a martial artist man
It would be more convincing if lets say
Can you provide us with a canon example of lightsabers being referenced or shown as weightless?
Luke is fighting and he shows that like in Din's case when he fight the saber weight drags him around
then yeah
but the OT fights
^
the saber motion is clearly very fluid
The OT?
The one where they swing them around like baseball bars?
The period of SW where lightsabers had the most weight?
I wouldn’t exactly call that “fluid”
I'd rephrase it this way instead. The hilts are obviously weighted. But if u take notice the sabers intertia for star wars fights barely affects the users. Of course one can argue that its the influence of the force but Finn was no force user.
A person having the ability to control inertia does not in any way imply a lack of inertia
"They had a lot of energy in them, so you worked with them as if they were heavy," Quotes from Lucas.
If I swing my arm very quickly but still manage to stop it instantly, that doesn’t mean that my arm didn’t have inertia
Which supports what Kanan said ""Energy constantly flows through the crystal. You're not fighting with a simple blade so much as you are directing a current of power."
Assuming it follows the same rules. lol
ok how about I rephrase it this way instead then. It feels like the lightsabers are getting heavier and it is weighing down the movements more in Ahsoka series compared to before.
That’s because they are
such a good build for a hilt imo
In the OT and PT lightsabers had really thin rods (titanium I think?) that they used for the blades, which allowed them to move very quickly
In the ST they didn’t have blades at all (IIRC) which is why the lightsaber combat was so janky, the actors just sort of had to guess where to stop
I think it was Ahsoka that started using pixel blades
Not sure what to think of the finale
It was a finale
They used blades in the ST.
which doesnt feel consistent to how lightsabers behave from other series.
I enjoyed it but...so many questions
I read somewhere that they didn’t, Idk
Sabine wasn't this clumsy with a darksaber before.
Almost as if she was
Animated
And not a real person with real person physics
Same with Ahsoka
I know its animated but still a pretty steep drop
She also stopped training for awhile.
again, I was talking about how the saber seem to throw the user around
Darksaber is different in many ways
The Darksaber is designed to be used more like a sword, so it makes sense why those trained in swordsmanship seem to wield it easily
The flattened blade also likely makes the gyroscoping feel much more like a sword
The real question is, however
Would the Darksaber cut along the flat side
Since it’s still a blade
@mild fulcrum
is apparently what they used in the ST.
and Kenobi definitely used prop blades that lit up too
There are so many reasons why they would fight the way they do
like having no training? 😛
They'll get answered in time.
the mainplot point was resolved.
Millenium Falcon always bothered me. Do they even have falcons??
To this point...
Fire hose doesn't really have "weight" so much as controlling the force of the water
Uhhh prove it nerd
NGL, as I was watching that scene, I was screaming in my head "put it on upside down!"
Of course I can count on you and Justin to learn it already lol
I wonder if they had Morgan destroy one of Ahsoka’s sabers because they were sick of having to choreograph fights with her having two.
thats not a Japanese oni mask! haha
You didn't specify what kind of mask!
Anakin modded Ahsoka's sabers to turn blue.
I actually have a "dark side" version of this
No he didn't. This is its last appearance https://youtu.be/6qMPWzM2Hp4 Thrawn never sets foot on Lothal after this scene before disappearing
One of my new favorite Thrawn scenes from the show thus far. Having him finally knock her down a peg was very, very satisfying, especially after her making him take the blame for all those civilian causalities on Batonn in the novel. I was disappointed that I couldn't find this scene, so I decided i'd upload it myself. Your move, Lucasfilm.
Tha...
Why doth ping me
Shit
I know lol
this just screams season 2
Helps that Diana Lee Inosanto is an actual martial artist too
Yo @dawn flame I might meet her at the end of October
Her husband's getting a 501st Honorary Membership at my friend's dojo in Hollister
They've asked for RL too
If he didn't slow the Jedi down by constantly throwing disposable bodies then they all would have caught up
exactly
i'm not a fan of how dumb the jedi were when it came to them though. after you cut the head off the one and it didn't get back up. do it to all of them not run away
woulda saved some time
Damn, I need to meet her. I already attended a couple of her dad’s seminars down here in Marina Del Rey but I’ve yet to meet her or her husband
Do you really expect them to be well versed in the rules of zombie fighting? Looked like it was the first time any of them encountered zombies
And I half expected Ahsoka to have in TCW but nope
oh not well versed in that but smart to adapt quickly
also i know its a disney show so i feel like lightsaber fights would have way more dismemberments which would have thrown that whole idea out the window
Can you think of any pg zombie media that has dismemberment
Samurai Jack got away with it because robots
thats what i'm saying. i feel like a lightsaber would be the best weapon to fight zombies. but alas here we are. was a pretty good finale. i was worried it was going to be too rushed but they left a bunch out for season 2.
so it paced itself well. wrapped up enough of the main line and introduced enough for 2nd season enticement
the fights in this show i think are some of the best of the star wars series as a whole
it was a great realistic fight
I loved the scene of Ezra building a saber
I wish we got more of that in starwars
most of the time a character just appears with a new one
I feel like someone in the community snuck that scene in there xD
It was too on point
Is that an MHS heatsink next to the Graflex?
Literally looks like it
I spy an Obi wan grenade section
Was about to say old granade section there
TCSS machined aluminum extension and definitely a grenade with the windvane. So freaking cool!
That is really cool.

Idk if anyone has seen these videos but they are neat
This one is a new one with some asohka shots
Why bother even blocking them in the first place
That’s why asohka pretty much told her to give up
Beskar tanking is a viable strat
See: Din in Mando season 2 episode 4 delivering grenades while tanking shots lmao
I wonder when people are gonna start sharing the new hilt lol
Captain Enrock?
Man I hate that mask. I wish they explained what’s up with it
Can you smell it?
I do like the kintsugi style on it though. Similar to kylos mask. Kinda interesting to see again
If they have the file, they'll use it lmao
Can you smell what Thrawn is cooking?
Directed by Michael Bay (not joking)
To be honest i am slightly disappointed. It feels like half the season was exposition and getting characters into place and now it's just done and not much happened really.
I agree to a point. But we know we're getting more. And I'm excited for it.
Yeah sure, but I am kinda fed up by the new style of series... 8 episodes and only half a story
I increasingly feel it's both corporate meddling and disguising issues with the writing
I want the old times back, like stargate or star trek... episodes were "complete" usually, telling parts of a bigger story coherently. But there were like 20 episodes per season and at the end of the season there was maybe half a cliffhanger, but at least something big happened
You don't have to justify any of your plot decisions if none of them get revealed until the last 2 episodes which kick the can down the road again
maybe i'm just old 😄
yeah this^^
I can see it both ways. Depends on the end game, I guess.
plus it secures viewership for your next season
It's the storytelling equivalent of credit card debt
Wish it were self-contained episodes with an overarching plot like how Mando S1-2 and Star Trek (sans Picard and Discovery) are
I'm disappointed that the Baylan and Shin storyline didn't really lead anywhere
it may be a good decision from a financial point, but artistically it's not always good. If people start feeling that most of the series is a waste of time, viewership will also drop. And i definitely felt that way a few times. Especially with that one episode that was only 20 minutes
I do feel that if you can't resolve your story in 6 episodes you should do more.
I totally agree with you. I stopped watching 10 mins into ep 6
This should have been at least a bit longer.
My toxic personality trait is that I have to complete a TV series if I get more than 4 episodes in. No matter how much I hate it midway through season 4.
My toxic trait is no matter how hard I try I just can’t enjoy Filoni’s work lol
I actually am kinda the opposite. I will get like 2 seasons into a show and then completely lose interest. GF has called me out for it on numerous occasions
i usually complete series as well. Only a few exceptions when basically half the cast changed after season 4 or something... notables here are Suits and The Magicians (where the main character died in the series and it was kind of a round end, so i didn't bother with another season that could only make it worse)
I used to love Suits
I feel like they jumped the shark by like season 3 but it was entertaining for a while
I feel like (I hope) they cut a lot of baylans scenes from this episode to save them for next season
Which also gives them a lot of time to figure out what direction they’re going in for his character and those specific scenes, and edit them accordingly
No. Shoehorning in cut scenes so you don't have to recast, will not serve the show and only weaken the plot.
No not to replace recasting, to give them time to figure out what direction to take it, won’t be shoehorning will just be saving it
I can see them just adding those scenes to the beginning of episode1 s2
And perhaps he will take on a new look etc
Only reason I can see why they’ve given arguably the best character 20 seconds of screen time in the finale
I'm sorry but what
Please don't jump me
Tbh I was also kind of ...there... at the end
Like it was a solid great series. With the Anakin moments being the best for me
But otherwise yeah. Baylan was the other extreme highlight
And I'm gonna be honest. I don't really much care about Shin
I mean as in, she's interesting and stuff, but I'm not obsessed with her like people seem to be lol
Sabine and Ahsoka's relationship was just weird even with the expositions that tried to explain why
Ezra was a huge highlight tho
Also Filoni better not be bringing Abeloth lmao
Are you not familiar with jumping the shark?
it was a joke because I'm shark
I agree it seems like there was a lot of backtrack with trying to explain things and it didn't fit or feel right.
yeah, a friend and I were having this discussion after the finale last night.
sets up like 5 plot threads, finishes none of them. with what's been announced so far, it's going to be at least 2 years before we see any resolution since they're not even filming yet.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think Filoni is too attached to Ahsoka. Especially if he's building her up to be the new Daughter
I just think the Force Gods need to stay dead after the events of the Mortis arc in the CW. Bringing them back with new wards for each faction seems like overkill
would be nice for them to explore new territory outside of the OG universe with completely new story lines
Someone made Morgan’s blade style, I think it was nosloppy, looks fkn awesome
Seems like what there doing with peridia hopefully
we can hope. there is always too much involved with in universe stories set around the skywalker saga.
I don't see that much benefit TBH. There's thousands of planets in the OG galaxy, anything they wanted to do within the Peridia galaxy could easily be done without pan galactic travel.
i was just meaning outside of existing stories so there are no ends to tie up. you don't have to worry about fitting it into other stories. plot holes are less likely
Gotcha.
You'd think that would be the case but here we are in a new galaxy already connecting the Mortis gods, possibly Abeloth and maybe even Anakin lmao
For every new ground we want to tread we get the member berries sprinkled in
oh yeah. would be a perfect opportunity to start with a clean ass slate
not going to do it though. they are lazy with writing to a point.
With the force connecting every living thing, and so much of the plot being 'the will of the force' of course things will be connected
well thing that comes to my mind right now with regards to things. so ahsoka is based shortly after ROTJ right?
ahoska disappearing makes trying to explain her place in the future easier. but now ezra is back. he's what late 20's at most? how is he not part of the future stories?
That's what we'll find out
and with thrawn coming back and being a legit threat you'd think that would have been mentioned at least a little bit
my mind is simple and wanting to connect these lines bugs me
just give me some new content that doesn't have to fit into the old stuff
Isn’t that just a green flame blade style?
Well we've got the acolyte coming soonish
i do feel that connecting ahsoka/baylan to the father/sister and such makes sense as he was looking for something specific that was more than other stuff
i'm excited for that
i'm just all skywalkered out. especially with how the sequel triology ended and the 2nd/3rd season of mando went.
1st season mando is still my favorite as it was pretty much a self contained story and each episode could pretty much sit on its own
reminded me of old shows i used to watch ya know
Yeah. Everything needs a storyline these days
i love the overarching story lines but not everything needs to be connected.
stupid marvel
But again we're seeing that already happen xD
The relief of standalone stories, that are once again being connected to a grand plot
i was meaning singular episodes can stand on their own.
If it was High Republic I'd be more open
Cause we barely have live action High Republic stuff
If any at all
i'd be down for that as well.
i just want out of the ~60 years we've been hyperfocused on for almost all the stories
Acolyte is coming
I still can't believe fans want Mada Jade xD
Like....you know what will happen to her right?
She's gonna get killed off quickly or be a completely different character with very little connection to EU Mara
oh yeah. people want the things from other media brought into the main only to hate when its ruined because their vision is not the same
wait a minute that sounds like every type of fantasy ever converted from book to movie/tv lol

now. for the people that have never experienced that original media. a lot of times its ok. but there are too many where its like what did you do
Either way it is what it is
exactly.
It was a fun series! And Anakin was still my favorite parts of the show
so now that ahsoka has a lot of time on her hands. do you think she'll rebuild the shoto the same or go completely new
while i thought he was great too. this speaks to how the rest of the show was if you didn't think that any of the characters this story was about was the best part
anakin to me was great but just a means of teaching ahsoka something to get her to grow
while welcome they could have changed it to something different to get her to figure out her mental state with sabine.
i'm really a debby downer eh? haha
I guess to word it better, he was my favorite part of the show. But I do agree the focus on teaching her to move on is really kind of put in there solely cause they wanted her to have ptsd about the war
Something that she didn't show at all until this show
exactly. some way of dealing with her past.
Like if they had used an Ahsoka episode of her having trauma over the Clone Wars back in Tales of the Jedi, or even in Mando/Rebels, I'd believe it more.
But this seemed more like oh she has trauma over the war cause child soldier
And blames Anakin
it was definitely a different feel
Like what the f do you want him to do about it xD
He didn't start the war. He had to fight like all other Jedi. He's just more gifted in combat
i just think his appearance overshadowed why he was really there a little bit
similar to when mando showed up in bobf
i'm still here when the show comes back though. i'll take all i can get.
i like to nitpick because its part of my makeup
No
anakin showing up causes more problems than it solves
where tf was he during the events of the sequels? He can drop in on ahsoka but he's not bothered to have a chat with ben solo at any point? or yknow, his son???
I don't get the people who are so sure it's an illusion.
Like, why. He acts like Anakin and even has callbacks to RotJ. Illusion Anakin wouldn't know that cause he would only know about what Ahsoka knows.
he didn't think to mention about exegol at all
Apparently he does according to Mojave. But in comics xD
As all big plot points
it's just so completely stupid
I love seeing Hayden always but it does not make a lick of sense
he wasn't an illusion. definitely a force ghost projection.
Complaints aside, he absolutely rocks the hair
And outfit
somebody pulled ahsoka into the wbw and stuck anakin there
That would be Filoni lol
right. cuz i don't think ahsoka would have died falling into the ocean right there
its not like she was cut at all
I've been told that Filoni treats Star Wars like a child who has all the action figures. And I'm starting to see what they mean
oh yeah just kinda doing whatever he wants
But nightwing is right about Anakin. Like what about his own family?
i mean he did drop in on luke that one time. right after he died.
Ben is struggling with the dark side. Maybe go talk to him about the evils of Vader
i think padme trapped his ghost in a cell somewhere
like dude. you screwed up so bad i died from being sad
and tbf anakin never learned how to do that in life. it took quigon 20 years after death to figure it out. obi wan trained a long time
thats why i'm saying anakin didnt' choose to be there. he got pulled.
i've have to assume luke got too busy to train like he'd need to as well
i'm just trying to explain it away honestly.
making it make sense
Anakin be like: "Ahsoka. I'm here to finish your training."
"....and also cause I'm hiding from Padme. She's still mad at me."
A book said that Obi trained him immediately after anakin died on the death star
Or were you referring to the wbw?
Well just being able to project your force ghost to people at will. As opposed to somebody doing it for you
I was just thinking. Ezra's first couple of weeks or months stranded with Thrawn would be a great Tales of the Jedi standalone episode
I feel like he definitely slacked on his force duties.
He turned into your kid who lost their job and had to move back home but didn't want to try to get a job again.
The parents only let you stay because you do random chores they can't/won't do.
He does mention it to Luke, and about a great darkness returning. But the swell of the darkside is fucking him up so he can't apparate as well as he should.
Most things get explained eventually
Can Anakin explain why only the official lightsaber art book has the true Stellan Gios hilt while all other media/comics have the wrong look?
||I'm sorry Avsati||

What do you all think of Ezras new saber?
I like parts of it, I feel like the body is kind of generic but I like that it has its call backs to Kanan
Still waiting on better pictures though. No idea whats going on on the top section of the grip
I think the pommel is wrong on that saber, it looks like its indented instead of extended
Also I think thats the smallest control box iv ever seen
You are right
your right, its just hard to tell because of the render
GG @digital imp, you just advanced to level 4!
i liked it 😦
It's okay I call it the Circle of Life
That's why r/saltierthankrayt makes fun of them 😆
I finally had to leave r/saltierthancrait. Some of it I could appreciate, but it's become a community where "Only people who hate Star Wars are allowed to be true Star Wars fans."
You've been subscribed to that place??
googly eyes make everything better
It should be an emote
It’s definitely a little toxic in there right now
It’s hard to have any kind of reasonable discussions between the ‘peak star wars’ and ‘worst thing ever’ camps anytime anything new comes out
star wars does have to have some of the most toxic people in its fandom.
there is plenty of content for all of us to like some and dislike some haha
Someone popped this into the subreddit yesterday and it made me smile: https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/621/567/bdb.jpg
exactly. you don't have to love every bit of content that comes out.
Isn’t there a Rey sequel coming out already?
I actually think the Rey movie could be good
I just hope there’s literally no pre-existing characters in it. Like does it’s own thing
I like her
If Ahsoka shows up I’m gonna scream
I just want new lightsabers to look at
Episode X
(not the actual name)
"Rey Skywalker: A Star Wars Story (not part of the Skywalker Saga)"
"Star Wars The Chosen One: An Anakin Story"
There's three movies in production:
Dawn of the Jedi (not final name)
Heir to the Empire (not final name)
New Jedi Order (not final name)
New Jedi Order is closest to release apparently
And since Filoni has said that Ahsoka S2 isn't confirmed with Disney yet, I'm banking on Heir being the one furthest from production
I believe there's a source somewhere that says you can change the color of someone else's crystal
and that's what anakin did
and also re colors changing, a Jedi can "draw" different colors out of a kyber crystal, it's not set in stone and major personality changes can affect what you draw
and I believe choice does have some element to do with it
At that point why did Disney even bother to establish that lore
Which is retcon of a retcon of a retcon
as Rebel said, why bother at that point?
just stick with the old EU "go pick a color lol"
right? it just made everything super weird and confusing
Yeah same
Bleeding and purifying were cool. But thats it
I kinda wish crystal colors were just like how Cal does it. Just a preference based on how you focus the force through the crystal.
GG @brittle peak, you just advanced to level 11!
I mean to be honest its not really a Disney thing either
Games like KOTOR had something similar
Of course you could replace the crystal that you had been given with any color, but initially yes you were given a crystal based on what you were more drawn to
as much as I love KOTOR yeah it did start the whole thing
I’m reading the NJO atm and honestly it’s cool how every time a new character is introduced they have a hyper specific saber color
Except the EU was never canon, so is it really a retcon
actually I agree
bleeding crystal is the main benefit over the old lore
the synthetic crystals were like
not dumb but
I think bleeding + purifying is way cooler
I could care less about the color assignment lore for the light side users
I don't think we have cemented colour assignment lore yet
We've just got that it happens, somehow
It was canon until George said it wasn't, which I forget what year that was. So the original whatever was in George's head (if anything lol) was retconned by the EU, which was retconned by TCW, which was retconned by JFO and other recent "but it's your feelings!" lore for it.
We'll be due for another retcon of how it works in about 5 years.
Was there recent 'but its your feelings' lore for crystals? There seems to be no reason for the colour from what I've read so far
I like it but don't like the colour
I think lore supports blue and green being the norm. Other light side colors have no reason or method yet. We might see the origin of the Darksaber at some point. Yellow and Purple just happened but no idea how. Red and white are specifically explained
Is TXQ the most accurate Anikan
No because the one used here is the old version
That’s neat. What gives it away
The control box and side-piecd wharecer it is
Ah yes. The flux capacitor
What the hells a gigawatt?!
Ngl. I want that new Ezra lightsaber lol
Never really cared much for Kanan's saber, but for some reason this one hit me xD

I mean that's how it went from the theatrical episode 4 to the rotj
Cuz originally Jaba was a dude right
They had to make Han look like he stepped on jabbas tail in the cut because he walked around em
I figured since I couldn't find the entire original Jabba Cut on YouTube, I would upload it myself.
Please like, comment and subscribe.
All footage belongs to 20th Century Fox, Lucasfilm, and Disney
Fellow Potato Eater
The special edition moved Han up digitally so he'd step on Jabba lmao
It always bothered me that they didn't change Jabba's dialog for the SE. Not even a little. The Jabba I know would never say "Han, my boy"
Boo
Um what? He literally seems the type to say that
He seems more menacing than that to me.
*Han mah bookie
To me he's more likely to intimidate than to try and be your buddy.
TPM and the CW Movie kinda seem to be a mix tbh
You know considering that Jabba is dead, I'm surprised that his son didn't try to become the new Daimyo of Tatooine.
Unless he ded too
Rotta the Huttlet?
Yeah that thing
I know this is slightly insensitive
But I’d be pretty pissed if I bought thrawn hunters before the last episode haha
Somehow Jabba returned
I wonder if he would fit in one of those cloning tanks
She has parts on the ship
Hopefully they don’t just slap some leather on there and call it a day
Post TROS Graflex to scare @tacit prairie
God I despise it so
If her saber wasn’t made out of cow hide that wouldn’t have been an issue 👆
Disney can’t let us destroy it. They resurrected the graflex twice from eternal death in 3 movies. Now they are buried awaiting for someone else to dig out the jumanji box to start it all over again
somehow graflex returned
Jumangi box
☠️
He brought it back twice!!! Once from the abyss of bespin. Then again from the explosion on a star destroyer. We don’t see anyone take it. But it came back anyways
I’m gonna start a DV6 appreciation thread
Rey literally has both halves in her hands at the end of TLJ, she took them while kylo was knocked out
Oh I didn’t remember tbh
I was hoping Rey found a piece of graflex fragment on her outfit then force healed it back into a saber.
I like the Reyflex
It's either my second or third fav Graflex
Top one is TESB one
Empire is my fave as well
I hated it at first but is starting to grow on me
GG @formal geyser, you just advanced to level 21!
It was all a ploy by Disney and Hasbro so that they can sell their Force FX single hilt and not get complaints like last time with the blue sabers that they aren't selling both together
Mmm big brain activated
Do we have any better pictures of Ezras new hilt yet?
No official shots yet with the closest thing being the render from SP Sabers
I swear control boxes continue to get smaller and smaller lol
Yeah 😔
this pic/scene made me think we were getting another thin neck
Fun stuff I found in other SW/saber FB pages
Live action Kanan looks nothing like his Rebels self
Definitely weird
Here’s the artist’s page for that comic-style one because all those fan groups repost without credit
cant tell if you're joking or not. that's his son though.
ROFL
I am 99% sure he is joking lol
I assumed so, but just in case I provided an answer for him or others who didnt know
Thinking about it, I wish the lightsabers were as vibrant as they were in the movies. They don't emit light as much anymore.
fans complained about how they were so bright in kenobi so they made them not as bright
I also wish they were brighter. I miss the extra atmosphere it added.
can you imagine if they brought back fucking maul again
Theyve had trouble writing new bad guys so they bring Maul back, they bring the emperor back.
They try Snoke...fail
Thrawn is definitely a great bad guy (at least he was in Rebels).
Baylan could be interesting if he actually winds up being an antagonist
Shin....who knows.
Baylan knows of the Mortis gods so maybe wants to redo them or something
Or become one
If I have to be honest I'm not a fan of the Mortis stuff
If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, why is star wars theory still monetized on YouTube
I don't know man
The mistake is listening to Star Wars Theory
Mistake number 2 is buying his overpriced lightsaber
....which is apparently sold out lmao
specific saber?
I don't understand how anyone could be disappointed with zombie Stephanie.
somehow dooku returned
Hack writers. Fanservice. Secrets only Theory made up.
Star wars theory has always had terrible takes and im surprised its taken till recently for people to notice
His bad batch season 1 review is unironically hilarious because he hypes the entire thing up every episode leading to the final that Vader is going to kill all the main characters of a children's show and throws a tantrum live when it doesn't happen
even in the final episode ||where the bad batch are underwater and the empire has left kamino thinking the bad batch are dead he still is hyping himself that Vader is going to kill the bad batch even though there is no narrative reason for him to show up. || He has no media literacy outside of star wars and no sense of narrative it shows
I wish I could unlearn what I just read
They only sell one saber actually! Overpriced but sold out apparently
I was totally confused as to what(who) Star Wars Theory is. never mind me.
Fucking hell
Ohhhh okay so we were talking about Star Wars Theory sorry lol. He also "amazingly" has a store called...
Theorysabers
Yes SW Theory....not thinking when typing.
didnt know it was a "person"...thought we were talking about Star Wars....theory. lol
It's better you don't know tbh xD
what I replied to was a clip of him, hyping himself up that Maul was going to show up in final of Ahsoka and then getting sad/angry when what he wants to happen doesn't. It happens so often with everything he makes
watches New Jedi Order movie with Rey
"But where was Maul???"
I remember when he got angry that there were screws on a prop, im forgetting which one
Funny thing about Theory Sabers, he only has it named that way because someone else already grabbed Saber Theory lmao
He was seething when Andor had bricks. BRICKS
But also there are screws on all the graflex and new york written on the bottom of the one in ep 5
please tell me you have a clip of this that sounds increadible
Please watch only if you don't fear losing your sanity xD
||https://youtu.be/btFy3O8IwBw?si=VJd5l6PeaEARpr7h||
"Cause it's not Star Wars!"
sad
Sad Massassi Temple noises
I really can't wait til these are available as physical hilts
I want better pictures of the actual prop, i really want to commission a pommel in that style from TCSS
Something I was thinking the other day, does this make Ezra the Jedi with the highest lightsaber count?
He’s built 3 now
I think that’s the most of anyone if you don’t count Anakin
And i guess obi wan technically rebuilds his after TPM
has anyone had 4?
Ahsoka technically has 4.
Yes good point
Kreia?
We actually don't know how many anakin had, in AOTC he says "not again?" when his hilt gets cut in half
Luke has had at least 3.
I wonder how many Yoda has had in all his years 🤔
At least two identical ones
3 identical ones.
I'll have to check Yoda's HR hilts.
Ha!!

Oh yeah I forgot about his apprentice one
yeah lmao. so much of the "xyz doesn't exist in star wars" actually does
I love a good troll job. Lol
Leaks from the filoni cut of ROTJ
I do think its amusing that while Thrawn and the Remnant are trying to bring back the empire, Sloan is working on bringing what will be The First Order
If she is still alive
I think going forward a lot of stuff might get reconned seeing as how a lot of the backstory of how the first order came to be was from books
I remember being all excited to see Grand Admiral Rae Sloan on the big screen when TFA was announced... because duh, she was the leader of the Imperial remnant post-Endor and then we got Totally-Not-Palpatine-Again instead.
I require death
She doesn't even look like him.
This looks cooler
Capes
Why do people fall for this?
smelly tabloids, internet is full of shitty websites trying to get clicks
I get that. But there wouldn't be so many if it didn't get the clicks. How they get the clicks is what blows my mind b

Technically it's one Ahsoka hilt now lol
This was a response for #general-discussion
Just bring back the Clone Wars hilts
Except not the SF monstrosity from the flashbacks
Nah but that knob definitely looked like an SF one
I saw a video about who could replace Ray Stevenson. He mentions Sean Bean, Liev Schreiber, Russell Crowe, Gerard Butler, Iain Glen.
I personally like Liev out of those.
Thoughts?
i think none of those.
but i guess it depends on how they plan on doing it. are you going to try to cast somebody to be the most similar to what ray gave us? or are you going another way.
well...offer up someone else.
I hope they cast someone based on Baylan's character, not on Ray's appearance
