you can still see the gfx, if i don't do any people will steal it. If i do too little then people will go out of there way to take off the watermark (yes this happened)

Could be just me, but I feel like the darker ones are a little too distracting.
Also, it's better to "hide" your watermark than put it all over.
Like, make them small but visible in some parts of gfx. I usually do it.
This was my submission for a art challenge in a server and I wanted to post it another so I just hid a ton of watermarks with 1 main one to distract the others so if it's stolen, I can prove it's mine. Yeah, in the server I wanted feedback, I got my works stolen multiple times.
Like someone literally took my commission sheet and changed it to their name (poorly) and sent it to my brother :/
