How do you get them

In the main game, you can receive it as a reward for completing certain side missions. In the postgame Z-A Royale, you have a chance of receiving one random apriball after winning your Challenger's Ticket battle. As for Ranked Battles, you receive them either randomly from each battle -- based on overall performance, I think -- or guaranteed after reaching certain ranks. That's, admittedly, the only way to get them outside of trading and the DLC areas.

Let me check my mission log, then, since I've completed most of them already.
Hmm...could've sworn some of the main game side missions gave you apriballs. Looks like it's only the ones that unlock after starting the DLC. So, I guess it would just be the postgame Z-A Royale and Ranked Battles, then, that would yield apriballs.
