I think you misread the rules, you can extend it at max 3 hours and only once if there's sniping on your auction

And then if you already planned to do 72hr do that and you can end early the auction (if a bid is interesting enough)

I don’t plan to do 72 hours I plan to do 48 so Monday morning but if someone snipes then I’ll keep going to 72 if I say I’m doing 72 and then just end early like I plan to at 48 then why put a finish time in the post to begin with why not just put the day bc if I extend it that day well I’m still in the day so it doesn’t matter

let me just clarifiy the rules for you about this, the maximum length of an auction is 72 hours. the only way an auction can be extended is with a snipe bid. a snipe bid is a bid that comes in within the final hour of the auction, and in that case the auction can be extended for 3 hours one time only. the host can end the auction if they wish, as long as a top bid has been accepted. if no bid has been accepted, the auction must stay live until the time limit, which should be stated when the auction is created
