You wouldn't believe my luck on that damn Lechonk. I was renting a second copy of Scarlet for just one day because I needed to do some trading to fill out the Scarlet dex in home. I touched that rental copy for less than one hour, but I found a shiny on route 1, before the shit with the Houndour.
