When you use Follow me, the other teams Pokémon are forced to attack you, so your other Pokémon is unaffected. Follow me is also a move.
Friend Guard is an ability that reduces damage to your other Pokémon on the field by 25%. So basically if you had Clefairy and Pikachu and I attacked Pikachu with a 100 power attack, since Cleifairy has friend guard, the attack would only do 75 damage to Pikachu
