From Station 3, you keep going left until you see a gap in the rock wall on the left side. That leads to said hidden cave.

oh, there's multiple of each Pokemon that spawn. So, you just KO or despawn them until the shiny shows up. If no shiny after 30 minutes, then you just reset.

I know if you stay in that central area -- i.e. the spot with the patterns -- only the dragon-types (and occasionally the ghost dogs ☹️ ) should spawn with the Dragon encounter 3 sandwich. Though, yeah, for whatever reason, other spawns still show up by the cave entrance and the grassy area near the back wall.

otherwise, that usually only happens when your chosen type doesn't spawn in the area

sandwich effect is still active, even after until circle disbands. so you can finish it if you’d like, or if you saved game prior, reset game and you’ll get stuff back

if they're flying, but are within range of your Poke Ball, then you can throw a Poke Ball to start a battle with them and then run away to despawn them. If they're out of range of your Poke Ball, then you just have to move far enough away to despawn them that way.

I believe they start flying at day/night -- forgot which one it was, tbh -- so this is the quicker option if the time of day doesn't change over on its own.
