If you find a shiny and then go union circle you will lose that shiny. The game will move you to a different location and save. You both need to be together before finding one.

You both can have the same shiny if the host saves in front of the shiny and then the guest catches it, then the host reset and the pokemon will be there in front of him ready to be caught. But only 5 encounters per person makes it harder to find. Good luck 🤞
