Also, if aiming for an outbreak shiny, is it better to do solo? Guessing best to eat sandwich then go ham. I only tried eating sandwich once on outbreak, but waited until 50 defeated (as apparently greater odds) but had no luck.

As it will use flying attacks, grass is bad element for you to have on your Pokemon. If you can, attacks good against dark (its tera type) will help. I don't have anything that good, but can use a Pokemon that puts up barriers to minimise damage.
