I'm somewhat new to VGC also, but I got to master rank before I quit VGC for a while, but now I'm back. I could also give you advice and tell you not what to do

it is easy once you know how to use your team.

Power Weight: HP.
Power Bracer: attack.
Power Lens: special attack.
Power Belt: defense.
Power Band: special defense.
Power Anklet: speed.
if you are up against a hard matchup you can use a Pokemon with spore. there are multiple strategies. try rental team tries what works out for you
if you can make the team better do so
talonfalme, great tusk torkol, flutter mane is a good team
your rank will reset every month depending on your rank master rank rest back to nine
once you get to a tier during the month if you lose you don't go back a tier
don't get worried about losing focus on your battle don't try to multitask. be aware of tera type the can change the outcome of the battle
check what the highest stat is and the type of move you use
keep in mind losing too much will make it harder to climb to the top of master rank ladder use protect first
