#2: a specific role for people who are most knowledgeable in advice, to basically be a quick and easy trusted source for any questions people have, as some people can obviously try and give out the wrong info

Id suggest having to show proof to a mod via an image with the users name in it but idk how the other would work

For 1, I know that the r/Pokemon discord does this and what they do is have prospective users DM their bot with the role they want and proof. A mod then reviews their application and either accepts it, denies it, or asks for more information/evidence
For 2, I suppose an application of some sort would also be necessary but that’s just a lot of work to put on the mods and doesn’t seem so important especially given that people who know what they’re saying often step in to correct false information

I would say for the dex, just show proof, and for the advice, the mod team appoints people who they see most knowledgeable

I agree with this, but the role being created as a purpose of go to people, the mod team can assign certain people through the experience they see, and everyone obviously can help, its just the fact that some people can just play troll with some people, and if enough people say the wrong thing, someone might use it (ex. The people saying to evolve gimmighoul, trade 999 coins for LP to evolve it)

Which is why when asked previously why there is no smart person role, I gave this answer. If you feel you can help, and you want to help, you should just help a community member out without having to be verified by a role first
Discord questions channel is basically for this purpose, and if someone is trying to troll another user, very quickly they'll be corrected or called out on it
