While that is possible, it still requires warps or some other means of actually getting to the gyms. Good news, on the other side, gym badges could be made unique by adding lore (with the command) to them. When performed on a regular badge, they can be added to any badgecase and retain their lore as well as name that way

My recommendation is that you use pixelmon held items as the base for badges, because they have a pixelmon use, that can show progress, they can’t be placed down and destroyed, they can’t accidentally be crafted into other items.

Are you interested in fighting strong trainers with your pokemon team? Are you tired of the slow process for the official gym system?

Then come check out the Battle Circuit. The Battle Circuit is a system similar to the Gym leader system, except run by the players for the players. The Battle Circuit is a constantly expanding system that avoids the limitations of staff by being run by players. The Battle Circuit also has an end of season tournament, the Circuit Cup, to crown a Battle Circuit champion from the participants and Circuit Leaders that participated in the season.

Anyone can become a circuit leader at any time as long as they meet 3 conditions: They must have a themed team that has an identifiable theme and does not use any legendaries; They must have a stadium or arena for battles; And they must have 2 endorsements from other players. Circuit leaders are acknowledged by other circuit leaders, participants, and the runner of the end of season Circuit Cup. They have the ability to grant “Circuit Sashes” that act the same as gym badges. These circuit sashes may be any non-expendable held item chosen by the Circuit Leaders. Circuit Leaders may set the rules of their battle, such as the level cap, # of pokemon, and format, but they can not restrict the challenger’s pokemon. Circuit Leaders should also help the challengers find other Circuit Leaders by telling them who is currently a Leader

Anyone can participate in the circuit and collect circuit sashes from these Circuit Leaders. Challengers do not need to follow any guidelines for their teams, but they can not use legendaries. Those who manage to collect 60% of the available sashes during the season may sign up to participate in the end of season Circuit Cup.

The Circuit Cup will be hosted by an owner of a town with a battle stadium. The player running the Circuit Cup will be decided at the start of a season and will be called the Circuit Chairman. The Circuit Chairman decides the battle and tournament format of the Circuit Cup. The Chairman will be the one who maintains the list of circuit leaders by adding new applicants and removing inactive leaders. The Chairman will also be in charge of helping new players and aspiring Circuit Leaders get started with the Battle Circuit by telling them what is needed and where to find other Leaders.

unfortunately after I announced it, the 9.0.0 pixelmon update was suddenly released and the player count dropped

the first time I tried to do it a server reset was announced soon after and the playercount dropped as well

You'll need to bring a bunch of players back online to get this started, but most likely you'll want to wait to take advantage of the next restart

Another recommendation from me would to find a way to reward challengers for the gym. An Idea I wanted to play with for this is to make deals with shops in player towns to only sell to people with enough badges or smth

I've just thought of another reward: custom ribbons for your pokemon team that beats the gym
