in the Indigo Disc DLC, there's an NPC who'll give you the "Synchro Machine"
which allows you to play AS the Pokemon you send out
however, it only works in the Indigo Disc map area
also you can't do a whole bunch as the mon, but you can trigger idle animations, attack animations, summon a beach ball to play with, run around, and some mons even have special properties
most water mon can go in the water, plus some others can, which often give new movement, idle, and attack, animations
some mons can have flying idle, movement, and attack animations, PLUS walking idle, movement, and attack animations
different mons have different speeds
if you climb the highest mountain and synchro as a flying mon, you can fly over the whole map
and there are many mons with fun movement animations; like Joltik running is it jumping up and down, IIRC Blastoise has jets on the water, Toedscool runs like Squidward, etc
