No you get both Apex Shadow Legends. Just like in the original Gold/Silver/Crystal you could get both. Which that tradition for Johto also continued in HGSS
Trading was a requirement in the Kanto Tour for one piece of the main research and it just had to be with anyone.

There will be timed capture challenges for the Johto Tour, they will disappear once the tour’s over but the main research you get with the ticket will be on the “Special” menu and can be completed at any time after the tour and once you complete it then you unlock the Masterwork research

You’re too late if you’re asking that question. Hoopa Unbound only could be accessed from a bonus research that could only be given if you completed the mischievous research before the season of mischief ended. Or you paid about $5 for a ticket if you didn’t
That ticket of course had a time limit for when you could buy it, so you’ll be stuck with Hoopa Confined

Trainers will only appear for the gym battle you're on.
Make sure you've completed the level of research in the Today Tab.

Look for pokestops in the distance that have a shaking cube, but no discolouration.
