Weather boost has no effect in pvp battles.

And by 100% you mean 15/15/15 ivs? If so you’ll preferably want low attack and high defense and hp stats. Not gonna get too deep into why but tldr it adds more levels and bulk than a hundo iv for pvp

I'd suggest using lucky eggs, to get more exp... so if you get to level 40 you'll be able to get those XL candy too

@ivory halo Getting all the way to 40 from 33 in one day is a bit overly optimistic, so I wouldn't worry too hard on the XP front (but as a more general tip, do try and group big XP sources together to maximise use of your Lucky Eggs. I wouldn't bother with Lucky Egging for anything less than a guaranteed 100,000XP, as the non-paid ones are a fairly limited supply).

You'll need plenty of balls, so try and max out your storage space with balls, especially in the 1-2 days leading up. Pinap berries on CommDay become less valuable the more spawns you have available to you, so for the most part, you can get rid of a majority of those. (Keep like 5 or 10 for if you buy the research ticket) Nanabs are in the same boat, especially on Oshawott, they're just not really worth it, so get rid of most. If you have a decent supply of extra Golden Razzes, get rid of most of the regular ones, and use Golden Razzes for shinies, elsewise, keep a few handy for shinies.

Try and use up a few premium items like regular TMs and Rare Candies on things that you own that are worth it, but don't junk them willy-nilly, as they're hard to replace large stocks of. Get rid of any Regular or Super potions. They're massively not worth it, as Hyper/Max are relatively frequent from Raids/Gifts respectively. (But keep some Hyper/Max and Revives, as you don't want to screw yourself over for directly after commday) Elsewise, try and actively go out and get coins for Bag Space and Pokemon. An item bag of 1.5k is more than enough, (if you reach that value) but one can never have too many mon spaces.

Try and sort out your Pokemon storage in advance too. The longer it is before you need to release some mons, the more time you can spend catching.

I also wouldn't recommend implicitly searching for PVP/Hundo CPs either. Having to check on a table whether something could be a Hundo wastes time that could be spent catching more mons.

In terms of maximising spawns, Lures are pretty non-ideal. Fixing yourself to one area isn't worth it, unless you're in an area with severely low levels of spawns and stops. Buying Lures in any decently built up area with coins is 100% not worth it. If you must buy Lures, buy regular ones. They won't draw mons from the lure-specific pools like the other ones, increasing your Oshawott spawns.

Incenses are massively useful no matter what you're doing, though, and are worth stacking enough to last you the time.

In an ideal world, you'd try and create a route in advance that takes around 1 hour to walk, such that any spawns you'll see will be new ones (and so you can maximise shinies). An ideal route would may out where spawns are, what time they spawn/despawn, and where clusters are, but being realistic, unless you're in a big city, that's probably not going to work. Just scouting out one that's about 15 mins long with enough Pokestops and a decent amount of spawns along it will suffice! (And be miles better than sticking to Lures)

Always, always curve. Curveballs aren't that hard to hit, and a poorly aimed Curveball that hits is almost as good as an excellent straight throw in terms of catch power. Any bonuses on top of that (Nice, Great etc) will give you better catch power than any straight throw could.

Learning to quickcatch is an idea, especially in a well built up area. It's not that hard to do once you know what you're doing, and it'll increase the cap on the number of things you can catch by about double, but equally, it's a massive drain on balls. Curveballing with the CommDay increased catch rate should net around 80% of catches first time. (Ish)

With non-shinies, just quickcatch normally and move on; with shinies, wait until you see the ball shake for a third time (as that's a guaranteed catch), before exiting the quickcatch, just because it's a pain trying to find which shiny mon you clicked on in a sea of them, to confirm the catch that way.

I'm trying really hard to work out what the feature you need to be Level 20 for was.

Like, Rockets unlock at 8, Teams unlock at 5; the only thing that unlocks at 20 is being able to naturally collect Ultra Balls, which like, why would that pop up. ?_?

A few things!

Trades are only short distance, so you'd need to find someone within about half a block of your position;

Even if you could find someone close to you to trade a ditto with you, I'm afraid that wouldn't solve any issues with needing it to complete special research, trades don't count for that!

Only certain mons can be ditto disguises! https://leekduck.com/FindDitto/ keeps an up to date record of the few mons that can be ditto disguises.

I'd check local groups to see if they report when someone finds a ditto!

Lucky Eggs (and Trainer Level) won't have any impact on finding a Ditto; a Ditto will be Ditto for all players, regardless of level. You can technically get Dittos off incense, but I wouldn't recommend going that route, they're absurdly rare. Your best bet is to just play as you would normally, and keep an ear out for anyone finding one in your local community. (Prolly best searching at non-event times, due to ditto disguises rarely being featured in events)

Yes, but how much of an increased chance varies depending on who you ask. No one wants to do Mega Raids, pretty much, so the research just isn't there. There is some primitive research, when they can be found in the wild, but given the small sample size, this is somewhat of an issue with trying to estimate the rates.

It's somewhere between Permaboost and Mediumboost (1/64ish and 1/128ish resp).

I personally think it's Mediumboost, although given the limited data I've seen is between the two, I'm not ultimately sure.

Yeah. Most people'll just do their 3-4 raids to get the mon as Mega, and then have done with it. They're un-soloable, so you have to rope other people into them, and no one really cares that hard about them.

They get a 1.2x Attack bonus at the cost of a 0.83x Defence bonus.

That 20% attack increase is vastly better than a measly +2 purification bonus for a vast majority of mons.

In many cases, it improves their total damage output in PVE and/or PVP over the regular form.

Just to avoid the confusion over regular ditto as well.

The last part of GBL is the ELO ranked part. You need 2000 ranking to get to Ace, 2500 for Veteran, 2750 for Expert, and 3000 for Legend.
