ive learnt a way to so it. So if you already did a nice throw and dont want to lose the chain, do this:
when you reach catching phase, turn airplane mode on. The game wont register if you did a normal/nice/great/excellent unless you turn airplane mode off.
if successful, turn airplane mode off at catching screen. it will register as either nice/great/excellent (depending which throw you need)
if you fail, restart game. . make sure you turn airplane mode off and try again. you wont lose the chain if you do so
repeat utill you finish quest
