If you are waiting for the balloon, it appears every 6 hours (12 , 6, 12, 6), which executive will it be is random (33.3% chance for each). But you can also locate the executives by clicking the rocket radar, it will show you where the executives are (their locations chagne every day)

Gyms cant give you research (only scan ones), and you can only get 1 research per stop per day (you’ll see a little checkmark beside the research binoculars in the top left corner when clicked on the stop if you’ve already got/completed that research from that stop today)

That’s where I’m at tbh. I’ve had enough XP for awhile but I don’t want to waste dust on pokemon I’ll never use… I want to do Togekiss and Garchomp for sure. As for the third I have no clue. Would love to do Darkrai but that will take me 26.5 years 😂 unless he came back to raids. However now I’m not doing requirements that I could easily be doing for the next level so…. 🥲

There's a Max CP for each Pokemon. IVs get you closer to that max CP, as well as level

It's also known that shininess is also decided when the egg is collected, not at hatch. (Unlike research quests, where the species is decided upon when spinning the stop, but the shininess is decided when you tap on the quest to complete it.)

Whilst stackexchange is a very useful resource, it does sometimes give unhelpful, incorrect, or elsewise not current answers to questions in a game that is constantly evolving and expanding, and is basically no different than asking the fine people here as to how something works. Additionally TheSilphRoad.com itself, whilst imperfect and a bit slow to document results, does have some interesting resources, and is about as credible a source as you can get. (Arguably barring Niantic themselves, but they've been shown to not quite understand how their own game works.)
