Wow, I just had a banger of a day in PoGo.

It started off with just some normal pokemon catching with my buddy, Oshi ( Oshawott )

And I Defeated a grunt,

then out of nowhere, Giovanni appeared!

I took out his Persian and Gengis-khan and he had shadow articuno with him, afterwards I caught it. My second Legendary Pokemon.

Some more pokemon catching and completed field research along with battling a gym went by with great success.

I then started claiming the rewards for the special reseauch and completed two stories in one day, along with getting a whole lot of items and catching four new pokemon.

One of those missons was the Celebi reserch with Jessie and James, once I blasted them off I caught the Foongus and oddish then I went on to catch Celebi.

I loaded up AR mode outside and pressed start and...

IT WAS A SHINY CELEBI!!!

I caught it and ended the day by playing with my buddy since I did not do it before.

If you mean bring you gifts(berries/potions) / souvenirs, yes they still can, if you mean gifts to send to friends, i believe the range is somewhere sround 15-25km (so long as you have a stop within this range they can bring you gifts to send to friends)

You need x amount of stops in a cell to have one turn into a gym, you dont get to just plop a gym down wherever ya want
