Oh nice. I have a Pokeball Plus too. I gave my second one to my sister and I bought a wrist watch that is made by CodeJunkies and it does everything the Pokeball does but holds 4 pokemon at once and auto catches / auto spins everything. I can manually turn off each setting too.

As for the buddy Pokemon, it will count only if he becomes a travel buddy after you feed it enough, however it sometimes bugged and still doesn't count, restarting / switching buddies fixing it for me

In order for a buddy pokemon to gain km’s toward walking hearts you need to have fed it atleast once that day (resets at midnight) otherwise, it’ll show you’ve walked it for the candy, but none for the buddy hearts

Starting on the 9th with the Nosepass event Beldums will be a lot more common in incense, magnetic lures, and there will be metang raids (raids have good shiny chance) you should keep the shadow beldum a shadow because shadow metagross is one of the strongest attacking mons you can bring to raids as a counter and the shiny is a nice flex

Could have luck finding them in there as they were avail for kanto day, somebody may not realize how rare they are and trade em to you for nadda, i once found someone in mine who gave me a shiny costume smoochum for a comday shiny, i think it was an Abra or some trash
