The reason is because you don't get as much bang for your buck there. It has a high attack stat and so it doesn't get as much stats as possible.
You typically want a very low attack state and high def and HP

Currently the damage for remote users is boosted due to lockdowns, etc

But once that is over, you'll do a lot less damage on a remote pass as compared to if you were in person

You set the circle, wait for the Pokémon to attack and curve throw midway or you can use a nanab every time. Some pokemon are difficult to get consistent excellent throws on while some are easy, legendaries are a good start as they attack quite often so you can predict the throw.

Finally got to one of the leaders for the event today

One problem; We recently hit level 20, so every grunt and every leader got a massive CP boost.

Arlo beat me up 8 or 9 times with a CP 6000 Tyranitar

The highest CP mon I have is a Throh! At 1670!

And I had to use my Throh to KO the other two pokemon before the Tyranitar!

(An Omanyte that attacks faster than literally anything I've ever seen and an Electivire that was incrediy bulky)

Nothing I threw at the stupid Tyranitar worked. I would have two mons and a shield going into it, but it would KO both mons just with fast attacks

@stark narwhal i usually use my free raid pass on whatever new legendary shows up so i can practice my throws. if it flees, no big deal. if i catch it, that’s a bonus! i don’t do circle locking at all since timing it can be stressful. thinking of my first go at a legendary as a practice run has definitely helped me land excellents more consistently.

depends on what your priorities are i.e. raiding or pvp. no idea if rock wrecker is any good in pvp but i use rw rhyperior a lot for raids/rocket battles and it's pretty good. if you don't have any of the other good rock alternatives e.g. smack down ttar or terrakion i'd say go for it, but if you do maybe hold onto it
