Make sure to appraise any pokemon you catch, and try to prioritise powering up high iv pokemon with low combat power rather than high combat power pokemon with low ivs

Or well if you’re early game it doesn’t matter all that much

But as you go on try not to waste your candy and stardust

Like pseudo legendaries can achieve way higher combat powers than others

oh yeah also number one tip is don’t purify good shadow pokemon

It might boost their combat power sure, but the attack bonus they have as a shadow is overall better

Keep "bad" IVs with a low attack stat and high defense + hp like a 0/15/15 for example, since those are preferred for PvP. 15/15/0 are also interesting to keep once you go down the pvp rabbit hole.

For PvE, IVs barely matter at all, so don't beat yourself up over not getting the best possible IVs for stuff.

spawnrate is higher if the weather is matching their typing, windy has an increased odds of spawning any of the 3 birds since they are all flying type while cloudy only affects zapdos for example
