moltres is mostly replaceable by charizard, zapdos is replaceable by raikou if ya did that, articuno is arguably the best if you didn't do gmax lapras which most people didn't, but it'll certainly get overshadowed by another ice type eventually
But a free encounter means a free shiny chance for all 3 and they're pretty fine for the lower tier raids anyways so if ya got a spare few bucks eh why not

if youre just squatting in remote raids sure, but thats not what everyone does. you can get kicked out from the team select screen locally if you wander too far from the gym while the raid is still ongoing, so dropping out+healing is not feasible

I mean yeah, one-off mythicals in general are not efficient to power up. That being said, if you do power it up, it's a good raid attacker. It's just about the specific worth to you personally thats debatable. I think calling it irrelevant when most one-off mythicals are actually irrelevant is what makes it feel weird. Because most one-off mythicals are not good even if you do spend the resources. Keldeo is a good attacker. Just sucks to get candy for it. Like if you assume that it does get powered up, it's easily a 3rd slot in your raid team since a lot of raids use more than 2 mons, even in remotes. Especially with how frail fighting types generally are. Like Lucario is a glass cannon. In many raids you take 1 or 2 hits and your Lucario is fainted. Having more mons in your party is a nice thing.
Whether it's worth the resources will change depending on the person, but it is an objectively powerful option if you have it powered up

Apparently whether a Pokemon will have a background is rerolled every time you click on it. How you can tell whether the background "status" changed is that the berry you've fed it disappears.
I had to reroll 50+ times for this one (most before the video), but since I'm at home and I knew it was a relatively new spawn, there was no risk
