The blog post said that you’d get an additional 2 raid passes per day from gyms if you bought the raid ticket

But it was actually 1 additional raid pass per day, they said the 1 you get everyday counted as one of the additional ones

I can actually kinda understand this one tbh. Like "2 raid passes per day instead of 1" turns into "2 extra raid passes per day". Likely an honest mistake by Niantic marketing department. But the disconnect between the devs and the marketing team is worrying to say the least. You'd hope the marketing team has to play the game a bit to know how to market it, but I guess they don't care

I think this is more about incompetence and lack of care instead of anything malicious, but it's still very worrying and not a good sign.

This means it still likely has a good chance of being permanent, but they're making the players beta test it for them so it might change a bit, but unless it goes terribly (doesn't seem likely), they are unlikely to scrap it altogether. Just more evidence for the theory that Ninatic doesn't have a QA department

That's how max particles work. I'm sure sales of passes would decrease by a little but I don't think even Niantic wants to admit that they need to profit off people failing to join raids successfully

What personally bugs me is when there's 4-6 lvl40+ players waiting in a lobby and some of them decide that they want to sit at the gym and wait for more players, even though we absolutely can clear the raid with the number of people already there.

So they back out of the raid with 3 seconds left and force me to wait with them or leave and waste a pass.

This is borderline harassment, considering that the main time I'm playing PoGo is when I'm on my way to work or on my way home.

Yeah this really annoys me, you gotta stare at the count sometimes to see if it drops or risk losing the pas

And if you're in a slow connection error they might leave and your player count doesn't even update in time for you to know

100%. Like anything new from them, a ton of bugs and oversights exist. This is part of the "the players act as the QA department and beta testers" mindset I mentioned. They don't like to test or polish stuff before releasing it to us. I guess this "this is a test" statement on the raid stuff is just to try and soften the blow of that

it's not really complicated you just join a party through the friends tab by scanning the hosts QR code, then the host picks 1 of 3 tasks for you to do

Say theres 2 of you and it says catch 25 pokemon, if you catch 12 and they catch 13, it'll check off and you get the rewards

Then host picks new task, repeat

Aside from a very niche use, for which Smeargle needs specific moves which you can't TM (Lock-On & Flying Press in Little Cup), there is no point in keeping a hundo Smeargle. Just like 90% of other mons

Aside from building your personal collection, it's pretty worthless, like most of the mons you'll catch in the game. But most people play this game for collecting purposes anyway at the end of the day, so just do whatever you want tbh

Like outside of a small amount of specific pvp and raid mons, which you'll only need a couple of each max, and XXL's for showcases, everything else is purely for collecting. Even every shiny is only there for flexing and collecting. It's not like they serve a purpose outside of that

There was also a big uproar about it online with a lot of people upset about it, and it was even brought up here in this channel a bunch of times before the global event started

It's not a big deal that some people didn't know. Not everybody keeps up to date with stuff for games they play. I was just saying I find it interesting how many people don't stay updated when for me personally I'd find that stressful

I think it's more that many people playing this game see it solely as a way to get hard to get mons for their main collection. Like a lot of the shiny legendaries we get are super common in pogo and much rarer outside of it. Just because something is rare in the main games hasn't always stopped it from being transferable to home from pogo, usually its the opposite that draws people in in the first place. That's kinda the point. People who have this mindset and play for this reason have good reason to be disappointed. I'm not one of those people, but I definitely understand where the disappointment comes from.

These people obviously exist or it wouldn't be so common of a topic brought up in this discord. I can't say how large of a portion of players use this feature in general, but at least out of people in this discord who use this channel, it's very common.

My point was that these people, who obviously exist, have good reason to complain about this. It directly affects them and they had reason to believe it could have gone either way. Acting like Niantic is consistent with these decisions is silly.

The raiding channel here is usually pretty dead and not a good place to find raids. Even if you match with someone here, you still need a bunch of other people to do the same. The raiding apps match you with enough people to complete the raid swiftly and easily
