The default is one per day. Each season has a bonus of some sort and some events will give an extra pass.

You can only pick up the daily pass if you have already used the previous one. However, you can hold today's pass to tomorrow, use it, then pick up tomorrow's and use it; raiding twice every two days for free.

What's the most optimal?

It depends. Pokegenie and pokeraid have the highest quality raids (least flakey), but pokegenie has long queues for joining when a new raid drops, and long hosting queues after a day or 2. Goraidparty feels like mostly spoofers hosting on launch day of a raid, but has a good chance of getting into a raid if you're willing to sit there and spam refresh+spam click for a few minutes. Also the easiest to host on. Pokeraid is kind of a middle ground. You can get into raids on launch day with spam clicks, and they support raids of up to 11 people (something the others dont). It's kind of a case by case basis for me on what I decide to use

-Reshiram got a slight nerf but still top 5, volcarona/heatran got buffs making them on par with reshi
-Most of poison get nerfed hard by 15% but the top 10 is still the same

It’s because the forms are not their actual size, it’s actually just a form. For example, you could get a xxs super size, or an xxl small size. The reason they’re different forms is bc of how drastic the size difference is between forms, not the same as the size difference as in xxl or xxs

Raids start tomorrow iirc, and the only pokemon you can find atm are the research ones and the wooloo for capping your particles

Kind of like an early period to stock up particles/beef up the few max mons you're given before the real feature drops

If you are going to walk it, increase its level up to ~30 to maximize odds of getting candy XL as well (tops out at 75%)

(easy way to know when it's 30, that is when the power ups get halved from about 50-60 to 25-30cp for Nihi)

Yeah I did it solo. Let’s you bring up to 3 Pokémon. But I did the entire thing with 1000 cp greedant and it wasn’t even close

Just do the one you have more candies for. Get a very basic build then catch a bunch of the kanto starters and focus leveling them up. Cause they are gonna be so much better

So don't worry about investing too much into Skwovet or Wooloo, they can probably solo it easily without a big investment

You can keep some big ones on hand for showcases you expect to see. First place can have some nice prizes and platinum on that medal gets you Professor Pikachu. There's also a medal for catches for both extremes, and evolving them counts for an additional catch. Aside from that it's mostly for personal preference.

There's no rule about politely letting other players get their coins, and if you try to abide by some kind of honor system when everyone else isn't then you are the one who's not going to be getting coins

So fight back, get dirty

Gym battling is a core mechanic. Some do it because it is intrinsically enjoyable, because they want to farm a gym to gold, or because they want the buddy hearts. The only hard rule is you can only be in up to twenty gyms at a time. If it's somewhere that is going to have a lot of foot-traffic, like a campus, there is going to be someone willing to fight the gym. You can drop in multiple gyms and try to get 50 coins combined, you can drop in sturdier defenders and try to make it less worth their time to fight, you can golden berry it, or you can try to expand your walk to find an out of the way gym (or submit new stops to make new gyms) so you have less competition.

If they spoof to a populated area they'll get kicked out fast and if they spoof to a place few people are then at least their mons won't get stuck for a month without being kicked out lol

Had a weezing in a gym near me for like half a year only got kicked out a few months ago, would've welcomed someone to come smack it at any point
