I've had friends play on a ferry ride across lakes before and it works as long as they have connection, spawns were actually pretty good too from the looks of it. If you went really far out into the ocean and still somehow had connection it'd probably turn into a dead zone at some point tho I'd imagine

You can walk for more Mega energy now that you've unlocked it, so in theory you don't need any more. In practice, 800~ is a good target so you can maximize its Mega level without waiting/walking too much.
