Games that are PvE and PvP are a different mindset, and it can be difficult to switch between the two. PvE you expect to be able to take most, if not all, things the game can throw at you. PvP a reasonable expectation is strive for 50/50. The game will try to match you with your skill level, so maintaining your balance will be difficult. Do not be disheartened if you end up closer to 300 for 600 after another few sets.

To be fair, those are all meta picks for great league. My first great league I could barely build 1 meta pick halfway. Needing 1400+ cp with a 2nd move on meta mons requires a lot of candy's. If those mons aren't currently common, you get kinda screwed for a couple seasons

A lot of it is luck tbh. I see people on their way to legend go 4/5 for losses in some sets. It's more of a marathon than a sprint. It's about minimizing the effect luck has by building a well rounded team and knowing how to use it to It's full potential, but even then, you can only minimize that luck by so much. Sometimes bad matching will still mess you up

Lol you'll probably still finish 1/7 in less time than any other steps, since each step past this has like a hard 21 day timegate or something. And the last step is just "be level 40" which can take awhile if you aren't there yet. I've been on the last step for weeks and am currently almost 40

And the shiny celebi one is arguably worse since the timegate is more "catch every johto mon" which mostly relies on the niantic gods if you're a new player

All this to say, Masterworks are meant to take awhile. Months at the shortest. It's a marathon, not a sprint. As long as you keep at it though, that shiny mythical is guaranteed eventually

You can only get it for the first time in raids or events, but after you mega evolve a pokemon 1 time, you can use it as a buddy to get more mega candy, and it costs much less to mega evolve after the first time

Normal necrozma raids don’t give cosmog candy

Only the fusion raids do, which haven’t happened yet and are only happening on day 2 of global

Ah, thought they were fusion raids but good to know. I have a Cosmoem that has 44 candy so I'm still a long way off of getting Lunala to complete the whole line

I basically only use rare candies to get closer to evolving them
