Joltik doesn't have a great catch rate. Pidgey has a 50% base while Joltik has a 30% (starters have a 20%). However, due to its size, it is also very difficult to get great or excellent throws on the little spark.

"tallest" just means relative to your other copies of the same mon, not objectively the tallest possible. XXL just means it's above a certain threshold that is considered xxl for that mon

you can get a taller version of the same mon, and the "tallest" attribute moves to that new taller mon

XXL is on the higher end. It's the largest size category

Totally 💯% agree with you. I'd love to have all the pokemon and be all powerful with them to be able to do the local shadow raids on my own but it's not worth the prize if I didn't work to earn it. As a new player, the platinum johto medal step basically just depends on when they bring Entei/Suicune/Raiku and Lugia back into raids. And part 2 has a 21 day timegate too. I guess that's the point of masterwork research though. Long term goal rather than a short term grind

Still waiting on my shiny shaymin solely because I need to be level 40 for the last step and am only 39

But knowing I'll get them eventually is really cool. Shiny mythicals are always cool

Once you get the research, you can finish it whenever. Which is important, because masterwork research specifically is meant to take a long time. The 1st step of the research requires finishing the Johto pokedex and the 2nd step requires a 21 day timegate for example

So you can finish it in a few months, or you can finish it in a few years. No time limit

I think there was one event in like 2020 that gave shiny celebi, so if you did that, you can't buy a ticket, but you still get access to the event bonuses ticket holders get
