I run triple shadow for GL.

Golbat in the lead, and then Quagsire and Steelix in the back.

All double moved ofc.

It actually works pretty well.

Golbat feasts on the fighting type leads and charmer leads you often see (so Medicham and Wigglytuff), Quagsire can beat Stunfisk and draw out grass types, and Steelix is just really good.

Golbat can also very easily take an ice punch from Medicham, and since most Medicham users expect a Poison Fang, usually you can just nuke them with a Shadow Ball.

Shadow Golbat can beat Azumarill with shields and Poison Fang damage ramping up due to how spammy it is + the defense drop.

And if necessary, Quagsire can be a damage sponge in a pinch and chip it good with Mud Bomb and/or Stone Edge.

Usually what you notice is that when you use shadow Pokemon, people love to bait you.

You have no idea how many times my Shadow Quagman has gone against G-Fisk, and I just click instant no-shield and watch rock slide bounce off.

Btw Shadow Golbat and Shadow Quagsire form a pretty good duo.

Golbat takes care of grass types and fighters, while Quagsire can deal with steels and especially deal with Lanturn who's absolutely everywhere.

I highly recommend using either of them.

Especially Golbat in the lead.

Golbat can also deal with Nidoqueen easily as long as they don't carry Stone Edge.

Or you can call a bait against Stone Edge variants and then hope they don't shield your Shadow Ball.

Shadow Golbat can also easily survive a Medicham Ice Punch.

It does around 50% maybe 60% ish? Depends on IVs but you can sponge it pretty well, so you don't have to immediately dump shields.

Oh definitely.

My triple Shadow team has been carrying like no tomorrow.

Golbat is a great lead. Forces out a lot of fighters and can actually beat Medicham since they mostly just throw the Ice Punch.

Which Golbat takes like 50% from.

And can trash it with Shadow Ball.

It can also beat Azumarill leads with shields since two Poison Fangs + Wing Attack damage kill it if they don’t shield.

And you might not even need to use shields if they aren’t running Ice Beam (though that’s a very risky gambit to bank on since most of them do).

Lanturn leads are rough but you can do three things there:

1. Throw a poison fang and then dip out to Quagsire.
2. Stay in and throw a Shadow Ball for huge damage (you will take a lot of spark damage in the process)
3. Instantly swap out into Quag to keep bat healthy.

No matter what, you often still get some kind of positive.

1 and 3 bait out potential grass types, while 2 can help force it out once you ball and then swap into Quag or Steelix.

Steelix can also be useful to switch out into to bait out fighters and allow Golbat to come in and pick them off.

It’s a pretty solid team tbh. I’ve beat a lot of common meta squads with it pretty easily.

Swampert can be a bit tricky to deal with at times though, but I usually manage to play around it.

But they definitely are a tougher matchup.

Usually I just full send the nuke move since they usually expect a bait.

Which works great since most Golbat and Steelix just throw the Poison Fang/Breaking Swipe

It’s how I just obliterated that Bastiodon above.

As far as I know, no. You need a minimum of 3-4 and even then it can be a bit hard depending on your party’s levels

Once frustration (or return) are gone from a Pokémon they are gone for good. You can remove frustration at the end of the month and wait until December to evolve for a past Community Day move.
