XL candy is to power up your pokemon from lvl 40 -> 50 but is pretty costly in dust & of course needing the XL candy too! Basically when they introduced the XL candy feature it brought up a lot of the great league meta up to ultra league

Yup they brought the level requirement down so you start earning XL candy at level like low 30’s now, when it was first introduced it was only available to lvl 40 players and up but they’ve slowly brought it down

lower attack IVs are better for PvP, which is what melmetal is best for due to it not being good in raids

if it's almost a hundo you could still use it in pvp but you'd be better off using one with less attack

ok well actually having lower attack IVs is beneficial in pvp if you're not running master league

so that melmetal is great if you plan on using it for master league, though you'd have to power it up a LOT

but since every other league has a CP limit, lower attack IVs will let you get closer to that limit since Atk is the most influential stat for some reason

For reference, this is the melmetal that I used in Ultra League last season. Powering it up once puts it over 2500CP, making it unusable.

Attack falls more into the CP calculation. That means you need more powerups to get close to the CP cap and that results in overall higher stats

Yeah Chandelure is a great budget ghost attacker (especially since it’s commday if you played that and got lots of candy) - moveset you’ll want is Hex / Shadowball , any ghost/dark mega is also useful if you cant hit hard just to boost others, but deoxys is super easy for the most part (besides defence form deo) 🙂
