Moves get rerolled on evolution.
So a Fast TM would do you no favours.
A Charged TM would, as Return is one of the few exceptions to the reroll rule, and stays on evolution.
So Rerolling Return would allow you to evolve it into an Ampharos that doesn't know return.
(Which is great, as Ampharos decidedly does not want return.)
The only things that do want return are super niche PVP cases like Sableye and Wobbuffet.

Also, it's worth saying - you don't get control over what it becomes with a normal Fast/Charged TM.
Only with Elite TMs, which you should definitely not waste on a mon like that, as it allows access to limited-time moves that are not currently available, and almost universally desireable, like Smack Down for Tyranitar.
The only non-legacy (without limited time move) mon that it would be even vaguely worth it to use an ETM on would be Mew, and even then, that's somewhat of a waste.

Im a level 20 with relatively v weak pokemon, today i joined a 5 star raid and defeated a giratina with ease (no thanks to me ofc) and got 2 rolls like 5x in a row before eventually failing.. i used the curveball techniques and the berries, is catching legendaries down to pure rng and luck or am i just too low level to even stand a chance? i ask because i dont wanna waste remote raid passes.. acc defeat it knowing i wont be able to catch it.

It's mostly RNG. You can certainly improve your chances by doing various things; but it's ultimately RNG as to whether you get it.
Basically:
Catching mons of a particular type give you catch medals in four successive varieties:
Bronze, Silver, Gold then Platinum. These catch medals give a small boost to the catchrate.
The catchrate formula heavily favours Curveballs. If you haven't learned how to throw a curveball, now is the time. Every single throw you make in this game should be a curveball. The best straight-throw possible is only slightly better than the worst curve-throw possible.
Hitting the inside of the small ring gives you catch bonuses depending on how small it is when you throw. There's something called "circle-setting", where you manipulate a mon into giving you a consistently sized ring. Aim for greats for now, work up to aiming for excellent throws later.
Also, the Golden Razzberries that you get from winning raids will give you a massive boost to catch rate. Try and save them for bosses OR shinies. But not shiny bosses - those are guaranteed catches. At this stage in your game, you should either be chucking Golden Razzes or Razzes if you run out for every attempt at a throw.
Not tied to the inherent catch rate per se, but there are things you can do to give you more attempts at throwing.
Doing a greater percentage of damage will give you more balls,
Participating in a raid with friends will give you both a damage bonus, and more balls,
And doing a raid fast will give you more balls.
Also
Giratina-Altered is not a great raiding mon.
It's a fantastic PVP mon.
But use your daily pass on it (find a place in the local community where pogo players congregate), certainly
But wait for the FAR better Giratina-Origin in a few days.
Especially before November 1st, as it'll be guaranteed to have Phantom Force, its' Signature Move (Which is the best move it could have currently)

It is not.
Basically:
A Zorua spawns.
The appearance of your buddy takes the place of the overworld model of Zorua, No Matter What Your Buddy Is.
So that means Shiny, Shadow, Mega, Costume, anything.
You go into the catch screen, and Zorua's catch screen appearance has the appearance as if it was your buddy's species, including CP, but with Zorua's IVs and Level.
When you catch it, it reverts back to Zorua.
Currently, this reversion isn't happening fully, allowing CP, height, weight and moveset to carry over as if it were still your buddy.

So there I was, back home after a week of raiding in Disney world. I see another origin form giratina raid is up and to my absolute shock I see that an actual group is forming instead of the usual no one I see. So I join and soon it's an 8 man party with megas and legendaries that in no time flat burn down the raid giratina. As I am going through the after score score screens my heart stops as I soon see the Shiny origin giratina standing before me waiting for capture. I feed it a gold berry give em the curveball and with one ball I secure the Shiny Origin Form Giratina.
