It's not the game causing issues. It's the system. The games run incredibly smooth if you run them on an overclocked switch. The Switch 2 is confirmed backwards compatible, as well.
They were designed to operate on the switch as well as take advantage of the switch 2 hardware

Or like use case basis? Cause it wasn't glitchy for everyone, but running a game on hardware that doesn't fully compensate for the requirements does cause problems of assorted nature. Updates to optimization fixes that.

So you optimize the game better via updates, smooth out problematic lines of code, etc. Updates will make it better, but yeah, it's definitely the switch hardware if the game runs fine overclocked. And overclocking just delivers more voltage to the hardware to cause it to operate harder.

For example gallade has tr and hitmontop has intimidate (sylveon has low defence). But then theres also gallade being a nice alternate offence choice but less bulky

It definitely doesn't need tailwind, you could throw on something like Electabuzz or Maushold for redirection and it's a pretty standard balance team
or Dragapult/Dragonite and similar effect
but that doesn't mean tailwind makes it worse or bad
