I didn't really enjoy piloting wolfe's charlotte VGC team.

I only got interested in Calyrex-S when everyone was talking about it here. Then wolfe made a video about Calyrex-S. So I'm like, "I'm back to farming vitamins."

Countering enemy torkoals and archaludons are the best feeling ever.

Cause those 2 mons made my VGC life hell.

I always cowered in fear when I saw those two in the enemy lineup.

Painstakingly always finding ways to outplay them.

Articuno blizzard is another one lol. My lineup, especially with the 2 genies, is pretty weak against ice.

After I saw how much of a threat it was, I just focused on it immediately. Rather than focusing on the Alolan Ninetails.

You can counter TR by Taunt, Fake Outs (depending on mons present on the field), your own TR, Imprison, running slow mons that thrive in TR for those matches, etc.

There's quite a few ways.

But keep in mind just having one of these solutions isn't a sure-fire method to beating TR. You still have to actually win the match.

Could be you're going about it the wrong way

Right now Calys have established counterplay options but some of those options depend on looking at the board interactions in a different way rather than X beats Y

I started recently so I don't have much experience against calyrex so it's possible

Restricted is also probably a difficult time for newer players to start off with since your margin for error is thinner

Luckily, you can try getting your piloting skills upped by using rentals first so it takes teambuilding out of the equation

It'll help you learn what the calys like/dont like which then lets you have a better perspective when teambuilding
