It's really silly because they bounce him back and forth between being an absolute badass and utterly helpless. Like I am sorry just the barbarian is not riping the sword away from a guy that can just shatter his axe's handle with an casual smack. He also was shown to be more resistant against magic until right at the end, he also should have pulled out his dagger and quickly killed the barbarian instead of calmly dragging him to the edge which wouldn't even have been fatal. Or he should have gone for his sword.

He was an artificer who was obsessed with cool rocks and explosions. He made a lot of weird bombs and tried to use rocks for everything. “Need a key? I’ll carve one out of rocks.” “Behold i’ve invented an exploding necklace of rocks!” (Has made a very weird necklace of fireballs.) He also spoke in 3rd person.

I'm currently studying human history and the key takeaway from civilizations everywhere in the world is that if everyone was dirt poor and struggling to make ends meet we'd be looking at a world with the highest expression of kindness and compassion possible, the moment prosperity comes into the picture and there's abundance and people have more than what they need to survive shit goes downhill very fast.

In a very "are you gojo satoru because you're the strongest or are you the strongest because you're gojo satoru?" way. Good qualities aren't considered good because they're inherently good, we're wired to consider some qualities good because they're the objectively better choice for survival of life. The same way intercourse doesn't feel good because of coincidence, we've grown wired to find it a good experience because it's better for the continued survival of the species.

If I could borrow the tierzoo perspective on life. If the game is hard you need optimal strategy (think gwm pam bear totem, elven accuracy sharpshooter cbe, twilight cleric etc) to win, we've become wired so deeply that we consider some qualities (kindness, compassin, empathy) as absolute good. When there's abundance the game is easy, we have cheats and unbalanced loot that trivialises the encounters and noone has an incentive to stick to the optimal strategies and that allows people to explore not being kind, empathetic and compassionate.

It's funny how selfless qualities and selfish qualities switch between selfless and selfish at different levels of expression.

In short it's sad that we can't expect everyone to be empathetic and also enjoy the freedoms that the conveniences of our time provide.

Why does exploitation and prosperity have to go hand in hand why!?

Because when society gets big enough the exploiters don't have share the same social circle as those they are exploiting. Allows them to continue thier exploitation without consiquence unless the large social circle condemns that. But the exploiters have taken over the executive functions of the larger circle, since they are the personality types drawn to those positions.
