This isn't like a therapy issue but I was wondering if someone could help me figure out an approach in how I should go about asking my boss for a renegotiated rate. Basically I am graduating in August after I finish some summer classes with a comp sci degree, concentrating in cybersecurity. I am 20 years old and found a medium size company to take a risk on me after I just started cold emailing owners and founders of small businesses. The place does safety systems and I was brought on to be the general IT guy in the office and help out with building reports from datasets. The first week I was kind of doing small busy work to help them catch up on things they were behind on and during the second week they basically started asking me to do API integration between their 2 CRM's and their accounting software. I started implementing some of the features they want me to do in sandbox and I have those done so I have kind of shown what I can do. When I first agreed to take on the job I was offered a 60 day probation at 21/hour and a raise to 24/hour after the probation ended. I thought that was for report building and general IT. In the city I am in, entry level roles for API integration developers is around 71-74k a year which comes out to 38-40 an hour. He also wants me to design the API's to work with a client portal he is lightly hinting at me developing. That is a full project and I have to think about these API's in that context without a full team or a senior I can ask for help. He said we would sit down for an hour or so tomorrow and discuss my scope of work for the next couple of weeks. How do I bring up that I love the company and everyone in the work place is great and I love developing but I would be doing a disservice to myself if I agreed to do it at almost half the market rate.

Nah, in all seriousness I know a few buisness owners I'd be happy to ask and get back
