As 3D artist eg I also only have to worry about making good assets the implimentation is done by a different team.

Benefit of large gropus of free workers is that you get a specialist for pretty much anything

I would say its hard becuase of the chaos and long communication lines. It can take a year before your idea actually gets put into the game. Standards and requirements are high.
