Idrk where to talk abt this but I kind of had a mini existential crisis today and idk I just wanted to talk abt it :^
I started thinking about how unnatural humans look me to compared to other animals. Like when I look down at my cat, I feel so weirded out. Our relationship with pets is so weird to me, wydm a hairless primate just picked up this animal one day and decided to just keep it for comfort? And ik about evolution and how we've domesticed certain animals, but it's still so weird to me. Why are we so smart, why can we talk in a way that a lot of animals can't, why don't we have fur or defined canines or markings.
Idk sometimes it just feels like we're not supposed to be here, like we're the aliens. We don't even like- behave in a natural order, instead of contributing positively to our environments/ecosystem, we actively destroy it, like parasites (which ik is prolly bc we're overpopulated but still)
Like- we to against nature or smt
Ik I sound dumb and there are reasonable explanations for this, I just felt like I needed to tell someone

That doesn’t sound dumb at all tbh. I think a lot of people have moments where they step back and realize how weird humans actually are compared to the rest of nature. Like when you really think about it, the whole “hairless primate with a tiny glowing rectangle talking across the planet” thing is kind of wild.

The pet thing is also pretty strange when you look at it from the outside, but it also came from thousands of years of animals and humans evolving alongside each other. Cats and dogs basically adapted to live with us because it helped them survive too.

And about humans feeling “unnatural” — we are animals, just a very unusual kind. Our brains got really good at communication and cooperation, which is why we ended up with language, technology, etc. That doesn’t necessarily mean we’re aliens or not supposed to be here — it’s just one weird outcome of evolution.

Also, having those thoughts doesn’t make you sound dumb. It just means you’re thinking deeply about stuff. If anything it’s kind of a philosophical question people have been asking forever. What made you start thinking about it today?

Just remember, long ago, mankind was just as devolved as any other animals; but Evolution is like a tree, we simply took another branch further. Most animals in my eyes are excised branches, but not all; Cats were worshipped as Gods in ancient Egypt, I think they're just as weird as we are. Because remember: We all came out of the primordial ooze, not just homo-erectus/Homo-sapiens, inherently, Artifice (civilization) evolved from Nature, I think that's the better way to look at it.

Nature's our mother, you could say.
