Lump??

I found a painful lump in my armpit that’s about the size of an olive. It started off small but it’s gotten bigger. I’m scared cause cancer runs in my family and I’ve had to get tested for it a couple of times before. I’m only 14, what do I do?

The amount of terrible advice is kind of shocking

1. Is there a community health clinic in your area, or even a religious one? Can be hard to find but it's possible

2. Do you like your school counselor etc - school nurses or psychologists might be able to help if you directly explain to them the financial challenges you have

3. Lymph can be swollen without other symptoms but you're right it's often related to a cold

You said your family had a line of cancer??? that’s means there could be a possibility of blood cancer

First off, dont panic, keep an eye on its size. Getting it checked and or biopsied is your best bet. theres several different explanations for a bump/lump there and its easy to jump to ‘cancer’ especially if it runs in the family, medically speaking theres a lot of other things it could be, dont panic, and do your best to get it checked out asap

Bit late to this but id say its probably a swollen lymph node? Any updates on the drs? If youve been under the weather lately your lmyphnodes can swell which makes it easier to identify but you can also have swollen lmyph nodes for no particular reason. There are a few things to note:
-Its it hard or more squishy
-can it move a little under your skin if you move your skin around or it fixed to the skin
-is it perfectly round in shape or an abnormal shape
-is it changing sizes? hint: outline the perimeter of it with a sharpie to see it its changing at all
-it it protruding or hidden under skin

Ok give update when it comes to that - if it doesnt move with your skin and is fixed inside then its not a superficial lump meaning it wont be a cyst or anything, because its gone more it i think its deswelling im still thinking either a swollen lmyph node or duct
