how do you approach someone <3

so there's this guy that I kind of have my eye on...

I haven't really spoken to him, but I like his vibe. he seems to be very calm, friendly, but quiet.
how do I talk to him? I would like to get to know him, but I'm not sure how to approach him or start a conversation.

a part of me wants to wait for him to talk to me first, but again, he's quiet so I don't know what to expect from him.

we DO have mutual friends, but they aren't that close
