I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not sure if it helps to hear this (since it's such an overused, canned saying), but you're not alone. It happens all the time, sadly. And I say that with zero mirth. There are others in the same boat who are going through the same thing, feeling what you're feeling, needing the same assurances you do.

Perhaps seeking such individuals can help.

Also,I'm unsure if you want to elaborate on what you've already said in your initial post, but if you are willing to, what might the cultural differences be?
