to fully know if that is the case it would be useful to try to track more of your history, which Ik sounds just paradoxical since you have the memory problem in the first place but, the more you try to dig the more you can try to validify the proper causes
in some people it can be partially a neurological issue too, not just trauma, and the symptoms may be very similar, its hard to say
But just to clarify - do you mean childhood as in rougly from 4-5 years old to about 11 ? Before that its completely normal for memories to be very rare and fragmented.
