#I am tired of being skinny

I am 5’11 (180cm) in height and only 140 pounds and 16 years old. Almost a year ago, I started eating almost 5 meals a day. I play two sports and do 50-100 push ups, 50 sit-ups, and hold a plank for 3 minutes everyday. I also ride my rollerblades up hill and go on runs a lot.
After all this I am still extremely skinny.

Diet:
Breakfast is usually 3-4 eggs, two pieces of toast with butter and honey, and cereal.
Pre-lunch: sandwich, apple chips, and granola bar
Lunch: Soup or fried rice
Post-lunch: Yogurt, banana, sandwich
Dinner: Chicken, rice, veggies
(Meals vary but this is my usual)

And after all these workouts and all this food, I am still skinny. I tried going to the gym for a while but got bored and also didn’t want to pay anymore.
I play football (soccer) ⚽️ and I played hockey 🏒 But am switching to volleyball 🏐 since I can no longer afford hockey. I spend more time outside than inside (swimming too and surfing).

So, anyone know why I can’t gain wait?

I have only gained about 5 pounds in the past year and a half.

People tell me I am eating not enough but after my 5th meal I start to get really full.

best way to get rid of the skinniness is to eat a lot of protein and of course working out.

It’s good that your doing simple exercises like push ups and sit ups for strength training

#

your meals are pretty solid but it’s important to track your calories intake

#

Eat more protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats to gain that muscle which will resolve in some weight

#

If possible order some dumbbells to use at home instead of going to the gym

#

you also mentioned running a lot I would try to limit the amount of times I run because running burns a lot of calories and since your eating about 5 meals a day and running your burning those calories which could have resolved in gaining some weight that you wanted

yeah that’s fine meat and eggs are a good source of protein

Just found out I am not too skinny for my height and age.

But I am still closer to below than above average.

So my goal is to hit average.

#

I am also told I have a very fast metabolism.

#

But I feel like that is just an excuse for why I shouldn’t try to gain a little more weight.

So I am going to start going to the gym once my home workouts get too easy.

As someone who was in a similar situation this depends on age, generally around 18-19 your metabolism will slow and you’ll be able to gain weight

You’ll gain weight over time anyways, you’re probably an ectomorph tho guessing from what you said and it’s more difficult for ectomorphs to gain significant muscle and weight

Just takes time and discipline, you’re on the right track

if u choose to go to the gym again, i can send u the split i used to use where i gained 16 lbs of muscle

Try to reduce soccer and eat more burger type shi u can make it home if you want it healthy

I play football too and when i play it actively gaining weight becomes really hard
