I would say this because teenagers don't really know what they are doing. I thought this just by reading the title.

So Google is saying many different things so idk what to trust. however, i think the main reason she wrote that song is because to most people the want to go back to their teenage years. know i have the song stuck in head lol

I'd say it's because people in their teens are still developing and can change a lot. These changes often drift couples apart.

Its majorly because yes they are developing personalities, learning new stuff on how to improve/destory themselves. But its also that none of the two people want to contribute equal respect, patience and adjustment. They want things to go their way and hence fall into fights and get offended.

You do see some teenage relationships work throughout life. Those are the ones who understood how to make their relationship work despite the differences, it could be LDR, impatience, or some sort of acts one doesn't like but the other would change slightly and the one would accept what it is to an extent that they should.

You cannot expect someone to change overnight, so patience and communication is a thing.

Teenagers have wild imaginations too, they assume bs w/o thinking and hence develop trust issues and what not and doubt their partners.
