Hey man, sometimes with issues like this you just have to y'know just... move past those issues and i know it's not as easy as it sounds. Your father's clearly trying his best to fix everything so I'd say just give him a chance and there's no point in maintaining the same perception you had on him in the past

Ay thank you for your advice man, I appreciate it. I don't think holding this grudge is good for me, but idk it's been difficult for me to move past everything that happened. I think I'll try to talk to him next time I see him though

I think you should try to give him another chance BUT if you can’t end up letting go of your anger it’s okay because I’m sure the things he did to you were traumatic. I’m sorry this has happened to you

It’s no problem! Forgiving is a good thing, but nobody should be forced to forgive.

And hopefully your dad and other family members understand that it’s traumatic what your dad did

I do not know for you but, forgiving someone is better than keeping hatred towards them your entire life.
