How do I deal whit the fact that writing is not for me? I just dreamed of being a writer and not of the process, I had a great story in my mind but my lack of interest in writing and laziness didnt let me do it. And a lot people told me to abandon it and that writing is not for me. How do I deal whit the fact that I will never make great stories?

Ur still a teenager u have plenty of time to develop ur skills
First of all, what you said was not a fact. It’s just a belief you built about yourself. First, consider if you want to be a writer. Or if you just like making up stories. Many people like the concept more than the reality. Second, if you decide it’s a yes, then figure out what’s blocking you and devise away to add some lubrication. And lastly, work on being rid of perfectionism. The main reason you procrastinate is that you’re afraid it will suck.
News flash, sucking at something is the first step to being kind of good at something.
Right now, you are a shitty writer, because you have written nothing. That’s the only type of shitty writer there is. You already improve the instant you get to work.
The only way to develop your skills is talent.
Wich I dont have.
I really hate the work.
Which is fine. But you have to consider your priorities. If the work is not worth the end goal of good writing, then maybe you’re not as passionate about writing as you may think.
And I’m not saying that to be a dick, I’m saying that to give you an opportunity to do some deep thinking about where your true aspirations lie, and to free yourself of the guilt
If you really want your story to come to fruition, you can get together and find people who are very good writers who can help you with the conception. Some people are better at ideas than execution.
It’s ok to not be good at something, even if it’s something you want to be good at but don’t have the desire to build as a skill
Find where your skills lie and focus on those. But at the end of the day, if you want to get good at writing, you gotta write.
I have no aspirations.
Well then, what do you enjoy doing?
Watching videos on tik tok.
Literally doing nothing.
Well what do you watch?
Anything that I like.
Well, what’s one thing you like to watch?
Slideshows.
About what?
Anime, memes. Why does it matter?
same same, but i feel like you have to go through the pain and cringe writing to get to the shiny good stuff
and its a reward in itself to see improvement
thats why i have tons of google docs with my writing in chronological order
its always fun and such a big ego boost to see how much you've improved
I never saw improvement.
And I never had fun writing.
well how long have you been writing for? and how consistently?
honestly the act writing can been painful sometimes, and sometimes it can be fun
but the final product and being like "DAMN i did that" is worth it in my opinion
For 3 years. I writed every 3 to 6 months or higher.
I will never feel that.
20 to 30 minutes to then leave th3 computer on for hours.
you will feel like that eventually, or if you want too feel better, compare your first work to your best, you'll see tons of improvement
so like an hour or two per year?
I dont think i have a best work.
Yep.
hm well then your latest work
well you're gonna have to spend more time than that to become great at writing and see tons of improvement
you could start by just setting side like 30 minutes or an hour for writing each day
and you'll see tons of improvement
you mentioned you had a story idea right?
you could start with that
i think anyone can have an idea, you just need to carry it out. and writing is hard but you have to push yourself. somedays you'll want to scream and give up, and others you'll look forward to writing. you just need to stay on the grind yk
and a great way to do that is by setting basic attainable goals like i'm gonna right half an hour each day or something
and like i said before, something that motivates me is looking at the improvement in my work, and thinking about how much better i could make it
I really cant find any motivation.
I always hear that, everywhere.
I would just give up.
I dont think that could work.
well i mean have you tried the comparison thing?
honestly, if i'm being real, its not about motivation or inspiration, those things rise and fall all the time. its about pushing yourself and willpower. and if you lack those things, you could still be a good writer, but you won't be a great writer, and you can't have it as your job for sure
cause it works lol, its a great way to improve
so then stop giving up. you need to push yourself out of your comfort zone and really go for it.
whether you have motivation that day or not
start now
I dont really like forcing myself.
I tried, didnt work.
i mean theres really no other way in this case
you have to if you want to get good
esp if you want to be a writer
if you can't do that, then maybe being a writer just isn't for you until you gain that skill
wdym? how long did you do it for?
at anything really, you just need to put in effort, and you'll naturally get the rewards of it sooner than you might think
For a month.
