any advice with my scars? TW: SH‼‼

hello! i was wondering if anyone can let me know how long red scars take to heal/fade. I’m applying vaseline constantly but I’m scared it won’t fade quick enough for when I go on holiday :))) thank u!

i don't think there is a way to quicken it, i have a bunch, it just takes a long, long time

What information do you need? Scars generally last a very long time.

There are medical treatments for surgical scars, but they're pricy and some require a prescription. There are consumer ones available, but there's less evidence for how effective they are.

Good things to do if they're relatively fresh is moisturize, drink lots of water, and wear spf.

All will be conducive to healing.

Also if you're able and worried about them showing you could use makeup to cover them.

unfortunately I don’t wear makeup so I don’t own anything and I’m more concerned about swimming but thank u guys :))))

you could temporary use a bandage for it while it heals? scars usually take some time to heal but covering it up can also help prevent infection therefor probably quicker healer time + when are u going on holidays? they may fade by then :)

Your scars should fade by then dw! Are they deep or anything though? Cause those scars may take a longer healing time unfortunately

Like when the scar like first happened was there a lot of ||blood|| ? sometimes the amount of blood can show you how deep it is

well I wouldnt say it was dripping but one of my habits it’s forcing it out so I’m not sure but it’s not turned white it’s like a red mark rn

I keep seeing tiktoks saying “pov: it turns white first then red” but I’m not sure what it’s on about

it doesn't sound like it was too deep then so I'm sure it will heal by July/August. most scars only take 1-2 months to heal tbh

? im not sure either cause typically a scar starts out red and then as it heals if it stays permeant it will turn white
